In this research, Autr and his wrkmates studied abut 35,000 jbs, recrding hw they appear ver time. That led them t find that technlgy has replaced mre U. S. jbs than it has created, particularly since 1980.
“Clearly, frm 1980 t the present, there is a faster rate f autmatin and a slwer rate f augmentatin than in the frmer 40 years,” says Autr. Frm 1940 t 1980, fr example, jbs like elevatr peratr and typesetter(排字工人) were getting autmated.
