    Trnt, the largest city in Canada, is ften said t be the mst multicultural city in the wrld. Peple there have ancestrs frm Ireland, Prtugal, China, Lebann, Italy and Vietnam, as well as frm many ther places. Lcated in the heart f Trnt is the Canadian Natinal Twer, which is ften called the CN Twer fr shrt. Rising 553 metres int the shy, it is the tallest twer in the wrld!
    Mntreal, a prt in the prvince f Quebec, is the secnd largest city in Canada, and als the secnd largest French-speaking city in the wrld, Pairs being the largest. Quebec, which was riginally clnized by France, was lst t the British in 1763, but its ppulatin is still ver 70 per cent French. Because f this, Mntreal has a wnderful mix f Old Wrld (Eurpean) and New Wrld (Nrth American) architecture and culture. There are ld buildings, churches, narrw streets and alleys, all alngside glass and steel and cncrete skyscrapers reaching upwards. As a mdern city, Mntreal has clurful nightlife, with many restaurants and clubs, as well as cultural and street festivals t ensure that n visitr is ever bred.

    Smaller in size, but equally famus, is the city f Vancuver in the prvince f British Clumbia n the Pacific cast. Anther multicultural city, it has ne f the largest Chinese ppulatins in Nrth America. Vancuver has superb scenery, a beautiful harbur, and all the cmfrts f mdern life and internatinal cuisine, in additin t being clse t the mst ppular wilderness and ski areas.
    Edmntn, a city in British Clumbia's neighburing prvince f Alberta, is hme t the West Edmntn Mall. The mall is said t be the largest pedestrian mall in the wrld. It is like an undergrund city, cvering an area f mre than 20 ftball pitches. The mall cnsists f eight kilmetres f tunnels, filled with shps, art galleries and even a water park. It attracts ver 55,000 custmers ever day!
    Nearer t the Atlantic cast is Niagara Falls. It is perhaps the mst widely recgnized natural phenmenn in Canada. The waterfalls, the largest f which is shaped like a semicircle, are 670 metres wide, and fall 56 metres in an awesme white sheet f water. Millins f visitrs frm all ver the wrld cme here every year.
    Canada has a very interesting histry. In 1896 gld was discvered in the Klndike area nrth f Alaska. Histrians say that apprximately ne millin peple left their hmes frm different areas all ver Nrth America t seek their frtunes in the “gld rush”. Althugh nly a handful f peple were successful, many stayed and established settlements in the area, and there are nw many museums shwing what life was like back then.
    Finally, if yu visit during the autumn, yu can see Canada's natinal symbl---the maple leaf! There are many maple trees in Canada and a maple leaf is featured n the Canadian flag. In autumn, maple leaves turn a beautiful red and the tree itself supplies Canada's mst famus fd—maple syrup—which ges perfectly with pancakes.
    With all f these attractins, yu can see why, in 1996, the UN named Canada the best cuntry in the wrld t live in!
