    Cmmn Sense Media is a nn-prfit grup in the United States that studies children’s use f media and technlgy. The grup has dne a survey asking teachers abut the effects f their students’ use f entertainment media.
    Entertainment media is defined as the TV shws, music,vide games etc that students use fr fun. Many teachers said they believe media use has hurt academic perfrmance,which in sme cases was already nt very gd. Vicky Rideut wrte the reprt fr Cmmn Sense Media. “We have tw fifths in students feel pr at reading,at ral cmmunicatin and mre than that thing the students wrngly fear reprt writing. S we need t make sure that everything kids are ding is helping t accelerate prgress than preventing it.”
    The survey invlved 685 teachers arund the cuntry. 71% f the teachers said they believe entertainment media has reduced students’ ability t pay attentin in class. And almst 60% said it has hurt their writing skills. Many teachers think it has negatively affected students’ ideas abut bys and girls relatinship. Many als think it encurages aggressin and antiscial behaviur. Teachers wh described themselves as being “uncmfrtable” with new technlgies were mre likely t see destructive effects f media use n scial develpment than ther teachers.
    But nt all effects f media use are bad. Almst tw thirds f teachers said it helped imprve the students’ ability t find infrmatin quickly and efficiently. And ne third said using entertainment media has helped their students t multitask effectively. Only 25% said it just has hurt them.
