    Mst satellites tday are sent int Earth's lw rbit, which reaches up t arund 2, 000 kilmeters abve the Earth. There, spacecraft are mst likely t crash with each ther. There may be as many as 170 millin pieces f space junk in rbit. Big r small, any f the pieces can cause harm t a spacecraft.
    In terms f the cleanup, scientists have sme ther ideas. One ppular plan is t equip a spacecraft with harpns (叉) and magnets (磁铁) . The craft wuld sht the harpn t stick int the debris befre “thrwing” it back t Earth. Magnets culd mve the debris, changing its directin. The debris wuld burn after entering Earth's atmsphere s there wuldn't be much left when it reaches Earth.
