基数词1—12 是独立单词,需逐个记忆。基数词 13—19 是由个位基数词后加-teen 构成,其中 thirteen、fifteen 是特例。此外还要注意eighteen 的拼法,eight 本身有字母t,因此只需加-een。基数词 20—90 的整十位以-y 结尾,需要特别注意: 20 是 twenty, 30 是 thirty, 40 是 frty, 50 是 fifty, 80 是 eighty。基数词 21—99,表示“几十几”,其构成是“整十位数+个位数”中间用连字符“ - ”连接。 如: 21(twenty-ne), 95(ninety-five)等。

3. 序数词的构成1、2、3 是特例:first、secnd、third。4 到19 的序数词一般在与之对应的基数词词尾加-th。 但也有特殊情况:five—fifth(5th)第五 eight—eighth(8th)第八 nine—ninth(9th)第九 twelve—twelfth(12th)第十二整十的序数词是在基数词的基础上变词尾的y为ie 再加-th。 如:thirty—thirtieth(30th)第三十 eighty—eightieth(80th)第八十等
3. 序数词的构成表示“第几十几”的序数词,要把末尾个位数变为序数词,前面的数词仍用基数词。 如:thirty-ne—thirty-first(3lst)第三十一 sixty-tw—sixty-secnd(62nd)第六十二 ninety-five—ninety-fifth(95th)第九十五等
4. 序数词的用法序数词在句中主要用作定语,修饰名词,其前通常加定冠词 the;但当序数词前有名词所有格或形容词性物主代词等时，不加 the。 May is the fifth mnth f the year.五月是一年中的第五个月份。This is my secnd pair f rller skates.这是我的第二双溜冰鞋。序数词可以用来表示日期,日期可简写。My father’s birthday is n June the first/June 1st.我爸爸的生日是6月1日。
