    Unit 3 RobotsComic strip & Welcome to the unit 设计说明用Hobo是机器人导入,引出Comic strip的内容。通过听读、模仿、表演对话等形式帮助学生理解文章并激发学生的学习兴趣。了解机器人的用途是本节课的重点,通过图片直接呈现相关内容,引导学生根据提示回答。结合课本内容引导学生用对话形式讨论机器人的用途,提高学生的学习兴趣和积极性。教学目标通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:1.知识目标掌握词汇: robot, post, brain, whatever2.能力目标(1)了解机器人的优点;(2)谈论机器人的用途。3.情感目标 介绍机器人的用途,激发学生对机器人的热爱。重点难点1.重点:用恰当的词汇和表达描述机器人的用途。2.难点:用对话形式讨论机器人的用途。教学准备PPT课件授课时数1课时教学过程Step 1 Lead-inAsk students to have a free talk.Robots can do many things for us and change the way we live. So would you like to have a robot? Look at the picture and say something about Hobo.What is Hobo?It is an e-dog and it is a kind of robot.Step 2 Presentation 1. Ask students to listen to Comic strip and answer the following questions.Ask students to listen to Eddie and Hobo’s conversation carefully and try to answer the following questions.(1) Is Eddie happy with such a good robot? Why or why not? (2)Will Hobo post the letter for Eddie? Why or why not?Answers: (1) No. Because Eddie is writing a letter to complain about Hobo to the robot shop. (2)No. Because he says that he doesn’t know when he’ll post the letter.2. Ask students to read Comic strip.Ask students to listen to the tape and read after it. Then act out the dialogue. Step 3 Drills1. Ask students to fill in the blanks.Ask students to read Comic strip carefully and fill in the blanks.Eddie is busy writing a letter. He is complaining about Hobo to the robot _______ because he thinks Hobo is too ________. When Hobo knows this, he is a little ________. He wants to _________,but Eddie says it is too _______. Then Eddie finishes the letter. He asks Hobo to ________ the letter for him. Hobo has to take the letter and go out. Of course, Hobo is not _________ to post the letter. What a _______ day today! Listen to their conversation and answer the questions.(1) Does Daniel think that robots would have brains in the future?(2) How can robots help them?Answers: (1) Yes, he does.  (2) They can do dangerous jobs like putting out fires or working on high buildings. Moreover, they can help them with their homework.3. Ask students to read the conversation.Ask students to listen to the tape and read after it. Then read the dialogue in pairs.Amy: Would robots have brains in the future, Daniel?Daniel: Yes, they would. So they could do whatever they’re asked to.Amy: That sounds useful. How could robots help us?Daniel: They could do dangerous jobs like putting out fires or working on high buildings.Amy: That’s great! Could robots help you and me in any way?Daniel: Of course.
