Scientists in the US have cme up with an unusual idea fr hw t slve glbal warming—cl the Earth by injecting (注入) ice particles int the upper atmsphere t make it drier. Water vapr—water in its gas frm—is a natural greenhuse gas that traps heat, just like carbn dixide frm burning cal, il and gas.
Researchers at the Natinal Oceanic and Atmspheric Administratin (NOAA) believe that if they add ice up high in the air, it culd dry ut the upper atmsphere and reduce its ability t trap human-caused warmth. “By nw, it’s just an early idea that scientists culd add t their ‘last-ditch tlbx’ against climate change,” said NOAA physicist Dr Jshua Schwarz, lead authr f the study published in the scientific jurnal Science Advances. “This is abut explring what might be pssible in the future and identifying research directins,” he said, explaining scientists didn’t find the suitable technlgy yet.
