Nw researchers are als pinting t mykines (肌肉因子) as an imprtant cntributr t the mental health benefits f exercise. When ur muscles cntract, mykines are released int the bldstream, helping yur muscles and rgans cmmunicate. They think this cmmunicatin increases resilience t stress, reduces symptms f mental suffering and anxiety and has a direct effect n depressin.
A 2021 scientific reprt published in Neurpharmaclgyshwed evidence that mykines bst brain functin, like imprving memry and md. "Mykines reduce systemic inflammatin (炎症), which is especially beneficial fr peple with drug-resistant depressin whse lw md is linked t high inflammatin," explains Dr Jennifer Heisz, an expert in brain health and assciate prfessr in the department f kinesilgy at McMaster University in Canada.
A recent study published in the British Jurnal f Sprts Medicine shwed that treatment fr depressin can be much mre effective when physical activity is added t the usual care. When yu g running in the wds in yur running tights, elastane (氨纶) is the reasn why they fit yu s cmfrtably. Elastane is an elastic material that allws the fabric t stretch and adapt t yur bdy.
But when elastane fibres are mixed with cttn, wl, nyln r ther fibres, as is the case in many clthes tday, the clthes becme almst impssible t recycle. It is extremely difficult t separate ut the different fibres, and therefre the materials in the clthes cannt be recycled.
But this may change, says Assistant Prfessr Steffan Kvist Kristensen frm the Interdisciplinary Nanscience Center at Aarhus University. Tgether with a number f clleagues, he is behind a new technlgy that can separate ut fibres in mixed fabrics.
"We've develped a methd t remve elastane cmpletely frm nyln. We're nt quite there yet with cttn, because sme f the cttn fibres are brken dwn in the prcess. But we believe that, with sme minr adjustments, we can slve this prblem," he says.
It is nt easy t separate elastane and ther fibres nce they have been wven(编织) tgether. Clthes are made by winding the main fibres, such as nyln r cttn, arund the elastane fibres, which cnsist f lng chains f mlecules (分子). The fibres nly break apart if we break the lng chains f mlecules, explains Steffan Kvist Kristensen.
By heating the clthes t 225 degrees Celsius and adding a specific alchl, the researchers have fund a methd t break dwn the bnds in elastane chain. When this happens, the chains fall apart and the materials separate. "The whle prcess takes place in what is in effect a large pressure cker that we feed the clthes int. We then add a little alchl and a ptassium hydrxide(氢氧化钾) base and heat it up. Then we let it ck fr just ver fur hurs, and when we pen the lid again, the different fibres will have been separated." says Steffan Kvist Kristensen.
S far, Steffan Kvist Kristensen and his clleagues have nly experimented with tw nyln stckings at a time. The technlgy is therefre nt yet ready fr applicatin at industrial scale.
32. What can we learn abut elastane frm the passage? A . It is an ec-friendly material. B . It is a kind f stretchable fabric. C . It makes the clthes far frm recycling. D . It is made up f shrt chains f mlecules.
33. Why is a pressure cker used in the experiment accrding t the text? A . T separate mre fibres. B . T reduce the heating time. C . T increase the temperature t 225℃. D . T ensure the safety f the experiment.
34. What can be inferred abut this new technlgy? A . It can separate all srts f fibres. B . It needs plenty f energy t wrk. C . There is a lng way befre it is widely used. D . There is n pssibility t separate elastane frm cttn.
35. What is Steffan Kvist Kristensen's attitude t this new technlgy? A . Satisfied. B . Cnfident. C . Critical. D . Unclear.
