Back in the 1920s, mvie theaters were well designed, and ppcrn wasn’t permitted there. The reasn theater wners ppsed selling ppcrn wasn’t that ppcrn was unppular. The snack had been lved by peple, especially kids fr decades and had a reputatin fr being the street fd. The wners were against ppcrn because they believed it wuld damage the tp-quality atmsphere they wanted t create. In the mid 1920s, mre mvie theaters pened. Nt all f these new theaters were fancy. They allwed peple t eat ppcrn while watching mvies. A cuple f years later, the Great Depressin hit America. In rder t survive, theaters had t lwer their ticket prices. And mviegers wuld ften buy a bag f ppcrn since it was the nly snack that had remained cheap. Sn, mvies and ppcrn became a ppular pairing acrss the United States. Sme theater wners even bught machines t prduce ppcrn themselves. The smell f ppcrn filled mvie theaters. Tday, ppcrn is cnsidered an essential part f the mvie ging experience.
