In the crner, there was a garbage can arund which were pieces f garbage and waste paper. He turned arund and finally had his eyes n me. A few steps twards me and he strke his fingers thrugh my hair, gently asking, “Yu want t see smething?” I felt a little guilty fr making my dad s wrried, s I faked a smile and ndded my head.
    He pened my fridge, searched fr a while and tk ut sme ice and sme tea leaves after biling sme water in a pt. Mysteriusly, he put the ice in the biling water. After a while, he asked, “Hw is the ice nw?” “What?” I was a little cnfused abut his questin, wndering what he was abut t d next. When he repeated the mve and asked me the same questin, I began t feel bred. “Hw is the ice nw?” “What ice? There is n ice in the water nw! It melted!” I answered with my eyes fixed n the rf. Suddenly, Dad held my head, lked at me straightly and explained, “The ice was nce tugh and hard.” Dad cntinued, “But when it was put in the pt, the biling water melted it and made it disappear as if it had never existed, just like what the difficulties may d t ne’s dream.”

    Back hme, Gleen’s mther wuld squeeze and rub his little legs every day, hping t help them recver, but it made little difference. He was either in bed r attached t a wheelchair. Yet his determinatin that he wuld walk never faded. Instead, he kept thinking abut hw t make himself stand up and walk again.

    He wrked very hard every day and with his determinatin and persistence, just in 5 years he became a well-established businessman.
