Grwing up n a muntain farm in Tyrl, Fritz enjyed watching hw cws and hrses interacted with each ther mre freely, nce they’d been led ut f the barn and int pasture. “We have an enrmus prblem with the lw-nutrient value f prcessed fds,” said Prfessr Christen Cper f Pace University Nutritin and Dietetics. “3D fd printing will still turn ut prcessed fds, but perhaps the silver lining will be, fr sme peple, better cntrl and tailring f persnalised nutritin. It may als be useful in making fd mre appealing t thse with swallwing disrders by mimicking the shapes f real fds with the mashed texture fds that these patients require.”
In the latest experiment, researchers tried varius cheesecake designs, cnsisting f seven key ingredients: a biscuit base, peanut butter, Nutella, banana puree, strawberry jam, cherry drizzle, and frsting. In early attempts, which invlved simply layering up the ingredients, the team fund that the cake quickly disintegrated, with jam and peanut butter leaking ut nt the wrk bench.
