Later, Jeff stle the ball frm the Kings and passed it t me. I saw Cle running tward the basket, but n ne was guarding me either. I threw the ball int the basket.
Cle slapped (拍) my hand. “Gd sht Derek.” I just smiled. Then Cle gt the ball. He passed it t me and ran under the basket. I ignred (忽视) him and sht, but I failed.

“Hey, it’s n big deal,” said Cle. “We’re all trying t win this game. We’re a team.”
It happened fast. Cle was n the flr hlding his ankle (脚踝). Cach Sanchez was there in a secnd and helped him t the bench. I felt my heart hammer (敲击) in my ears. Nw I was ging t be the MVP withut a dubt.
Everything didn’t lk gd. Every time I tk the ball, tw Kings players were guarding me instead f ne. The Kings believed that with Cle gne, they culd shut me dwn and win. Cle had helped divide their attentin befre. I’d never thught abut hw much that helped me.

Sme f us like t keep sme things private—maybe we dn’t want peple t knw abut ur relatinship status (状况), ur age r where we live—because these details are persnal. The prblem is, everywhere we g nline, we seem t leave a “digital ftprint”.
On ur scial media accunts (账户), we ften shw things like ur pinins, cnnectins and hliday phts. The matter is, hw d we stp everybdy seeing everything? Maybe we dn’t want a stranger knwing ur favurite type f cffee. And ckies—there was a time they were just smething nice t eat. Nw they seem t appear n websites. S hw can yu stay mre private?
There are sme steps yu can take. First, n yur scial media accunts, check yur privacy settings. Many scial media platfrms autmatically (自动地) shw everything t everyne unless yu change the settings, s it’s up t yu t decide what ther peple can see. And limiting hw much infrmatin yu share isn’t just smething yu shuld d n scial media. There are many sites ut there that help yu t share dcuments, s a gd tip may be t nt put anything t private, like passwrds, n there. One wrng click (点击) may send it t the wrng persn.
Finally, ckies are designed t imprve yur brwsing (浏览) experience by tracking (追踪) and saving infrmatin abut yur visits t a site, helping t persnalize yur time n these sites. Erasing yur brwsing histry may help, but there are certain apps which can blck them if yu dn’t feel cmfrtable.
S, if yu want t keep yur privacy nline, maybe nly share things yu’d be happy with a stranger seeing—and if yu dn’t feel cmfrtable with ckies, yu might decide t use sme tech t blck them. If that’s nt enugh, just dn’t accept them and visit anther site—and why nt have a yummy ckie t eat instead?
    27. Accrding t the passage, which f the fllwing is NOT a “digital ftprint”?
    A. A paper bk.B. A hliday pht.C. A persnal pinin.D. A hme address.
    28. What can we learn frm the passage?
    A. Visitrs can help yu t share dcuments nline.
    B. Ckies can track users’ behavir n the sites.
    C. It’s impssible t stp everybdy seeing everything.
    D. Sme tech can stp strangers erasing yur ftprints.
    29. What is the writer’s main purpse in writing this passage?
    A. T explain the imprtance f nline privacy.B. T tell peple hw t prtect privacy nline.
    C. T warn peple against the scial media.D. T encurage peple t share ideas nline.

What is yur understanding f self-cntrl? Hw d yu think it wrks? D yu think yur self-cntrl ability is limited r unlimited? D yu believe that after a lng day yu run ut f energy, and yu need t rest t get it refueled (补充燃料)? If this is the case, then yu have a limited thery (理论) f self-cntrl.
D yu think that challenging activities dn’t easily lse yur energy? In that case yu have a nn-limited thery.
In an experiment, researchers divided students int tw grups based n their self-cntrl thery and fllwed them during a term. Outside the exam perid, there were n differences between the tw grups. Hwever, when requirements were high, students with a limited thery prcrastinated (拖延) mre, achieved a lwer GPA (grade-pint average) and ate mre unhealthy fd.
Theries abut self-cntrl becme a self-fulfilling predictin. If yu think that self-cntrl is limited, then yu will give in t temptatins (诱惑) mre easily and find it harder t realize yur gals. On the ther hand, if yu have a nn-limited thery, yu will be mre successful with yur gals.
Interestingly, bth ‘nn-limited’ and ‘limited’ therists feel just as tired immediately after exercising self-cntrl. Hwever, ‘nn-limited’ therists dn’t take their feelings as a sign that they have depleted a limited resurce and need t rest. In fact, they believe that a day full f challenging tasks ‘activates’ their self-cntrl skills, which leaves them refreshed and mre willing t make effrt the next day.
It seems that there’s a clear benefit t having the ‘right’ beliefs abut self-cntrl. Hw can yu change yur self-cntrl thery?
If yu’re willing twards a ‘limited’ thery, we suggest that yu try t persuade yurself r a friend that if they use effrtless strategies, then self-cntrl is nt easily run ut. Researchers have managed t experimentally cntrl students’ self-cntrl theries.
There’s anther, prbably mre pwerful way t change yur self-cntrl thery. In a series f experiments, researchers asked participants t d an easy (e.g. keeping a diary) r a difficult (e.g. nt eating sweets) task fr 2 weeks. Befre and after this perid, they measured their self-cntrl theries and self-cntrl strength. Interestingly, the participants wh did the mre effrtful task changed their beliefs tward the ‘limited’ thery by the end f the experiment. As a result, they made less effrt in the final self-cntrl task.
This study shws that when we experience a lt f effrt, it may act as a signal telling us that ur self-cntrl ability is limited. This in turn makes it mre difficult fr us t exercise self-cntrl in the future. Therefre, if yu use the mre effrtless strategies, yu can autmatically shape yur self-cntrl thery t be mre nn-limited, naturally imprving yur self-cntrl.
    30. If yu believe yur self-cntrl ability is unlimited, yu’ll feel ________.
A calm after the experimentsB. satisfied after lng-distance race
    C. cnfused by self-cntrl activitiesD. energetic after self-cntrl tasks
    31. In the first experiment, the writer wants t tell us ________.
    A. the tw grups f students gt the same scres in the experiments
    B. beliefs abut self-cntrl changed the ability t avid temptatins
    C. students with a limited thery achieved mre cnfidence and trusts
    D. students with a nn-limited thery easily succeeded in the experiment
    32. The wrd “depleted” in Paragraph 5 is clsest in meaning t ________.
    A. createdB. savedC. cllectedD. emptied
    33. The writer may agree that ________.
    A. yu can change yur beliefs t becme mre unlimited
    B. there’s a clear benefit t imprve yur skills and abilities
    C. yu can use the effrtless strategies t realize yur gals
    D. yu shuld persuade yurself t change the learning strategies
