The village super league, r “Cun Cha” in Chinese, is a sccer game amng different villages in Rngjiang cunty, Suthwest China’s Guizhu prvince. It was held frm May 13th t July 29th in 2023. The matches were s ppular that at least 1 millin peple watched it n the field.
The ftball players cme frm different backgrunds. They are sellers, drivers, students, etc. They cme frm different ethnic(民族) grups such as Mia, Dng, and Ya. Their ages are frm 15 t ver 40 years ld. But when they put n their team unifrms and walk nt the field, they fight fr their cmmn lve — ftball.
Like “Cun Cha”, anther village sprts event called “CunBA” was als ppular. The matches were held in Taipan village f Taijiang cunty, Guizhu prvince. Fur teams cmpeted in the finals. The winner f the first “Grgeus Cuntryside” Basketball League came ut n March 27th. Over a hundred thusand basketball fans went there t watch the exciting matches.
Bth “Cun Cha” and “CunBA” enjy a lng histry in Guizhu. Ftball in Rngjiang dates back t the 1940s and basketball in Taipan dates back t 1936. Nw, under the supprt f the gvernment, mre peple can take part in sprting events and enjy it. At the same time, these sprts events are als helping the develpment f these villages.

Have yu ever fund yurself in a situatin where yu’re talking t smene but they keep lking at their phne? This is called “phubbing” — a mix f the wrds “phne” and “snubbing(不理睬)”.
When smene is “phubbing”, they’re using their phne t lk thrugh the nline news, check messages, play games and s n, instead f fcusing n the cnversatin r spending time with the peple they’re with. The wrd was first used back in 2012, when fewer peple had smartphnes. And nw that mst peple have smartphnes, phubbing is a cmmn prblem.
