The plicy was expanded in 2002 s that if the mther and father each tk at least tw mnths’ leave, the family wuld get tw extra mnths. Sme pliticians nw want t g further, _____30_____that the current system f shared leave be turned int ne f individual entitlements, under which mthers shuld be allwed t take nly half f the family’s allwance, with the rest_____31_____fr fathers.
Plicies similar t the Swedish “daddy mnths” have been intrduced in ther cuntries. _____32_____, Germany amended (修正) its parental leave scheme in 2007 alng Swedish lines, and within tw years the share f fathers wh tk paid leave jumped frm 3% t ver 20%. Bilgy may nt be everything, but genes apparently have a far greater influence n human behavir than is cmmnly thught. Similarities ranging frm hbbies t bdily gesture are being fund in pairs separated at birth. Many f these behavirs are “things yu wuld never think f lking at if yu were ging t study the genetics f behavir,” says psychlgist Thmas J. Buchard, Jr. , directr f the Minnesta Center fr Twin and Adptin Research at the University f Minnesta.
Buchard reprts that s far, exhaustive psychlgical tests and questinnaires have been cmpleted with apprximately 50 pairs f identical twins reared apart, 25 pairs f fraternal twins reared apart and cmparisn grups f twins reared tgether. “We were amazed at the similarity in psture and expressive style,” says Buchard. “It’s prbably the feature f the study that’s grabbed us the mst.” Twins tend t have similar mannerisms, gestures, speed and temp in talking, habits and jkes. Many f the twins dressed in similar fashin--ne male pair wh had never previusly met arrived in England sprting identical beards, haircuts, glasses and shirts.
The mst striking example f cmmn psychpathlgy (精神病理学) hwever, came frm a pair f twins raised apart. One had been reared by his wn (pr) family the ther had been adpted int a “gd slid upper-middle-class family.” Bth are nw cnsidered t be antiscial persnalities, suffering frm lack f impulse cntrl, and bth have criminal histries. Althugh the twins share, n average, 50 percent f their genes, Buchard suggests that the verlap is prbably cnsiderably mre with this pair.
Persnality similarities between the identical twins raised apart are almst the same as they are with identical twins raised tgether, accrding t the results f a test develped by University f Minnesta psychlgist Auke Tellegen. His persnality questinnaire cntains scales such as “scial clseness,” “harm avidance” and “well-being.” The researchers were especially surprised t find that “traditinalism” --a trait implying cnservatism and respect fr authrity--can be inherited. In fact, says Buchard, his and ther studies have fund abut 11 persnality traits that appear t have significant genetic input.
Overall, the emerging findings f the Minnesta study cnstitute a pwerful disprf f thse wh maintain that envirnmental influences are the primary shaping frces f persnality. The textbks are ging t have t be rewritten, Buchard predicts.
43. Why des Buchard say these behavirs are “things yu wuld never think f lking at if yu were ging t study the genetics f behavir?”
A. These behavirs seemed t unimprtant fr scientists t bserve.
B. These behavirs seemed t intimate t allw scientists t bserve them.
C. Psychlgists assumed these external characteristics culd nt be bilgically based.
D. Psychlgists assumed the causes f these behavirs were t cmplicated fr current methds f bservatins.
44. The wrd “identical” (in para.2) mst prbably means________.
A. fashinableB. alikeC. cmplexD. identified
45. Accrding t the passage, Auke Tellegen agrees that________.
A. sme textbks n genes and behavir will be rewritten quite sn.
B. peple’s behavirs and persnalities depend at large n their genes
C. his persnality questinnaire can indicate peple’s 11 persnality traits
D. the envirnmental influences have great effect n peple’s persnalities
46. What des the passage mainly talk abut?
A. Twins generally share the same hbbies and gestures if they are raised apart.
B. Genes have a greater influence n human behavir than is cmmnly thught.
C. Peple frm upper-middle-class family are the same as thse frm pr family.
D. Twins tend t dress in similar fashin even when brught up in different families.
Sectin C

Many children first learn the value f mney by receiving an allwance (pcket mney). The purpse is t let children learn frm experience at an age when financial mistakes are nt very cstly.
____47____. Timing is anther cnsideratin. Sme children get a weekly allwance. Others get a mnthly allwance. In any case parents shuld make clear what, if anything, the child is expected t pay fr with the mney.
At first, yung children may spend all f their allwance sn after they receive it. If they d this, they will learn the hard way that spending must be dne within a budget. ____48____. The bject is t shw yung peple that a budget demands chices between spending and saving. Older children may be respnsible enugh t save mney fr larger csts, like clthing r electrnics. Many peple wh have written n the subject f allwances say it is nt a gd idea t pay yur child fr wrk arund the hme. These jbs are a nrmal part f family life.
Paying children t d extra wrk arund the huse, hwever, can be useful. It can even prvide an understanding f hw a business wrks.
Allwances give children a chance t experience the things they can d with mney. ____49____. They can spend it by buying things they want. Or they can save and maybe even invest it.
Saving helps children understand that cstly gals require sacrifice: yu have t cut csts and plan fr the future.
Requiring children t save part f their allwance can als pen the dr t future saving and investing. ____50____. A savings accunt is an excellent way t learn abut the pwer f cmpund interest. Cmpunding wrks by paying interest n interest. S, fr example, ne dllar invested at tw percent interest fr tw years will earn tw cents in the first year. The secnd year, the mney will earn tw percent f ne dllar and tw cents, and s n.
That may nt seem like a lt. But ver time it adds up.
A. Many banks ffer services t help children and teenagers learn abut persnal finance.

F. Parents are suppsed t tell their children hw they shuld spend their pcket mney wisely but the refused t d s.
IV. Summary (10%)
51. Directins: Read the passage carefully. Then write an English summary within 60 wrds in yur wn wrds accrding t the passage given belw.
Hitting the right buttn
It has been fund that in sme cuntries, achievement in sme subjects at schl is nt always gd fr bys as it is girls. It is pssible that using cmputers may be a way t slve this prblem.
Many bys seem t have a natural liking fr cmputers, but it can ften be hard t leave the screen and cncentrate n the wrk the teacher wants them t d.
As cmputers are becming mre and mre imprtant in the wrld f educatin tday, it is natural t assume that cmputers can help greatly with bys wh d nt d t well at schl and need t raise their general educatinal standards. Many bys appear t be mre cnfident than girls in using it, and they need t use cmputers mre frequently, especially at hme.
Researchers at universities nw think that it culd be a really gd way f re-engaging under-achieving bys in the learning prcess, and teachers have indicated that it des wrk. They have fund that, althugh lts f bys d nt seem t like writing in the classrm, when they use a cmputer, they are mre willing t cmpse lnger pieces f writing and use different styles. The issue f unintelligible handwriting is n lnger a prblem, either, as the neatness and presentatin standards rise when bys use a cmputer t print ut their wrk.
Many bys welcme the “hands n” apprach f cmputer. Hwever, researchers and teachers need t be careful that bys dn’t just “cut and paste” things that they have fund n the internet, but haven’t read, and hand it in as a cmpleted assignment. Sme bys verestimate hw gd they are and think they can d things withut any effrt. They need t develp prper research skills and make their written wrk mre structured. Other bys take shrt cuts, r lk at internet sites they haven’t been asked t lk at. They may nt plan r think carefully abut their wrk, r they may try t finish their wrk quickly. This tendency is nt ging t be cmpletely cured by using cmputers. One way t get bys t cncentrate prperly n the wrk they have been asked t d may be t encurage them t use their cmputers at hme. Hwever, they als need t be set tasks that are interesting and relevant t them.
As in all things the interactin between the pupil, the teacher and the cmputer is crucial.
