Why are sme peple mre mtivated t handle difficult things? And is there a way t make ding difficult things easy? T answer the questin, we need t lk at this: dpamine(多巴胺). Dpamine gives us the mtivatin t get up and d stuff.
In fact, yur brain develps pririties in large part based n hw much dpamine it’s expecting t get. If an activity releases t little dpamine, yu wn’t have much mtivatin t d it. But if an activity releases a lt f dpamine, yu’ll be mtivated t repeat it, ver and ver. S which behavir releases dpamine? Any activity where yu anticipate there’s a ptential reward releases it.
And in tday’s digital sciety, we are flding ur brains with unnaturally high amunts f dpamine n a daily basis, even if we dn’t knw it. Sme examples f high dpamine behavir include: scrlling thrugh scial media websites, playing vide games, etc.
And yu might think, “S what? It wn’t harm me in any way. But yu’d be wrng. Whenever an imbalance ccurs, ur bdy adapts t it and thse high levels f dpamine became yur new rutine. Thus yu develp a dpamine tlerance. This can be harmful because the things that dn’t give yu as much dpamine dn’t interest yu any lnger. That’s why peple prefer playing vide games r brwsing the Internet, cmpared with studying r wrking.
But it is pssible t make ding difficult things feel easier. Separate yurself frm the unnaturally high amunts f dpamine, r at least expse yurself t it far less frequently. Only then will lw dpamine activities becme exciting again. That’s why yu might want t limit yur phne and cmputer usage.
We are all dpamine addicts. And that’s a gd thing because dpamine mtivates us t achieve ur gals. But it’s up t yu t decide where yu are ging t get yur dpamine. Are yu ging t get it frm things that dn’t benefit yu r frm wrking n yur lng-term gals? The chice is yurs.
    28.When is dpamine released?
A.When we get up and d stuff.B.When we take pleasure in the behavir.
C.When pssible benefits can be btained.D.When difficult things cme int being.
29.What can we learn frm the passage?

C.Dpamine tlerance keeps us away frm games.
D.Vide games prduce mre dpamine than study.
30.What is the purpse f the fifth paragraph?
A.T ffer slutins t dpamine tlerance.B.T intrduce the effects f dpamine.
C.T explain why dpamine is harmful.D.T stress the imprtance f dpamine.

In America, abut 80% f the ppulatin lives in cities, and it’s these cities that suffer frm an urban heat island effect, caused by factrs such as trapped waste heat, cncrete structures and pavements absrbing the sun and tall buildings blcking the wind. Residents and develpers have tried t cl these places by planting large trees that ffer shade and putting plants and gardens n tp f rfs t help trap heat. And in Ls Angeles, there’s a experiment t cver street s with light-clured material that reflects rather than absrbs the sun and s they remain cler than typical black rads.
But it’s satellites in space that are really giving us the best picture f ur ver-heated cities. Glynn Hulley, wh is leading an image-capturing prject, called the Land Surface Temperature Mnitring missin, tld the BBC: “The data can be used t identify ht spts, weak regins, and assess the cling impacts f heat mitigatin (缓解) appraches.” It’s already fund hw green spaces, white rads and water features, have helped prevent ur cities frm biling ver. But with extreme heat still psing a threat t ur lives, mre slutins are still needed.
32.What leads t the increase f CO₂ emissins?

    C.Building f cncrete structures.D.Applicatin f air-cnditining units.

C.T demnstrate the benefit f mdern buildings.D.T supprt the idea f lw-carbn cnstructin.
34.What is the Land Surface Temperature Mnitring aimed at?
A.Evaluating the cling effect.B.Identifying city features
    C.Emphasizing threats t livesD.Testing image capturing technlgy.
35.Which f the fllwing can be the best title fr the passage?
    A.Cities in DangerB.Dramatic Climate Change
    C.Temperature Mnitring MissinD.Cling Ht Cities

With the increasing ppularity f smartphnes, mre and mre students bring them t schl. Hwever, the debate ver whether students shuld be allwed t bring phnes t schl cntinues.
The main reasn fr banning phnes at schl is the distractin they cause. Smartphnes can easily lead t students being distracted frm their studies. Additinally, smartphnes prvide a cnvenient way fr students t annymusly bully their peers, which can lead t mental health issues such as depressin and anxiety.
Sme peple argue that banning phnes at schl is unnecessary. They believe that the prblem is nt the phne itself, but rather the student’s ability t manage their time and stay fcused. Banning phnes may als be seen as an invasin f privacy and a vilatin f students’ rights.
In my pinin, while smartphnes can pse distractins in the classrm, the key is finding a balance between regulating their use and allwing students t benefit frm their cnvenience.

A direct bservatin f the wnderful creature in the flesh stimulated the students’ interest. In the natural classrm, the Pigen River, the students listened attentively t Jack’s intrductin f the fish, such as what they eat and hw they live and multiply. As Jack spke, the students’ enthusiasm grew strnger.
Seeing the students interested lks, Jack began t raise a questin. “Why can’t this fish live in ther rivers?” Jack asked, lking int their burning eyes. Then, like in a regular lessn, he paused, allwing his students t reflect. One student respnded, “They’re picky abut their habitats.” Jack ndded smilingly. “S?” Jack cntinued. “If we pllute rivers at will, clear water like this will disappear, s will this beautiful fish,” anther student answered thughtfully. Seeing students truly invlved, Jack felt a sense f satisfactin. The utdr trip did prve t speak luder than a regular class.
    ①提出问题:raise a questin/ pse a questin②反思:reflect/rethink③消失:disappear/vanish
    情绪类
