We will sn enter the Year f the Dragn. Or shuld that be the Year f the Lng? That is a questin that has arused heated debate.
Influenced by Greek mythlgy (神话), the dragn is ften the keeper f treasure, s the dragn is ften a symbl f greed and destructin. In additin t the image f “Saint Gerge slaying the dragn” in the medieval manuscripts f Eurpe, there is als the Great Red Dragn in the Christian Bible’s Bk f Revelatin, which refers t Satan and the end times. Fr Eurpeans, dragn is usually a mnster keeping distances away frm peple, a symbl f darkness. With fur legs and tw huge black wings, they can spit fire r even pisn gas ut f their muth, with great destructive pwer.
Such symblic resnance (共鸣) can be seen in the enduring appeal f dragns in Western ppular culture tday where they are imprtant parts f fantasy literature, films, vide games, and TV shws, ften representing a mix f awe-inspiring and fearsme qualities that put them at the heart f struggles between gd and evil.
Cntrary t the evil image f Eurpean dragns, Chinese dragns traditinally symblize different meanings. The lng has been a central symbl in Chinese culture fr thusands f years, and its rigins can be traced back t early Chinese civilizatin thrugh mythlgy, flklre and religius beliefs. They even had jbs, as in Chinese legends dragns were appinted head f the fur seas where they must keep rder, as well as the jb f bringing rain t the earth. Since lng were believed t have cntrl ver natural phenmena such as rain, strms and water, and were assciated with the life-giving prperties f water and the fertility f the land, lng became symbls f strength and gd frtune, and they became assciated with balance, harmny and the natural rder f the universe.
The differences in perceptin f the mythical creatures in China and the West are rted in their different cultural values. What is imprtant is that as we enter a new lunar year peple glbally appreciate the cultural values embdied in such Chinese symbls as lng.

阅读A篇 21-23 DBC
根据Sydney: Harbur City部分中的“Sydney is a city that takes advantage f its lcatin. Once a majr prt city, Sydney is smetimes called “Harbur City”,”可知, 悉尼作为一个主要的港口城市, 被称为“Harbur City”, 故选D。
根据Geneva: the Peace Capital部分中的“Geneva is nt nly hme t the Eurpean headquarters fr the United Natins but als where internatinal rganizatins, such as the Red Crss, were funded . . .
根据 Trnt: Muddy Yrk 部分中的 but the nickname refers t a time in Trnt’s histry when there was n drainage system r sewer 可知, 多伦多之所以曾被称为“泥泞之城”, 是因为这个城市以前没有排水系统和下水道, 因此下雨天就会一片泥泞。故选C。
阅读B篇 24-27 CADB
根据第二段中的“... he hpes mre scientists and engineers frm the internatinal space cmmunity culd take part in China’s lunar explratin prjects. He als added that the samples retrieved by the Chang’e 5 prbe will sn be pen t freign researchers.” 故选A。
根据第三段中的“It was China’s first lunar sample-returning missin and ne f its mst sphisticated and challenging space attempts.
根据第二段“ refers t Satan and the end times.” “dragn is usually a mnster keeping distances away frm peple, a symbl f darkness.” “With fur legs and tw huge black wings, they can spit fire r even pisn gas ut f their muth, with great destructive pwer.
文章倒数第二段中“Since lng were believed t have cntrl ver natural phenmena such as rain, strms and water, and were assciated with the life-giving prperties f water and the fertility f the land, lng became symbls f strength and gd frtune”可以看出龙在中国被视作力量和好运的象征是基于人们对于龙有着美好的寓意。
通读最后一段“The differences in perceptin f the mythical creatures in China and the West are rted in their different cultural values.
. . emtinal disrders.”
根据上下文“but they can feel weak…and have a pr cmplexin”可以推断出年轻人晚睡容易导致精神状态不佳。
结合全文及根据最后一段中“experience f the dangers f ging t be late. .
