    Imprtance:
    1. Guide students t analyze the deep cnntatin f mral stries thrugh the cmparisn f characters' wrds and deeds;

    3. Instruct the students t write a clear and structured stry review.

    2. Independently write a stry review with clear viewpints and distinct layers.
    1. Read the passage in advance, understand the meaning f the new wrds and phrases in the text and understand the cntent f the article by referring t the cntext and the dictinary.
    2. Understand the literary genre f allegry, the cncise and incisively language, the simple but expressive plt, the decrative techniques used and the prfund truth f the educatinal significance revealed.
    Step 1 Learning new wrds
    The teacher shws the pictures r uses the stick figure t draw the new wrds r phrases in the teaching text.

    Activity 1
    1.Students read the diary quickly and answer the first tw questins in activity 1.

    (2)What Naadam Festival custms did yu learn abut?
    Suggested Answers:
    (1) Naadam means"games"in Mnglian,and it includes hrse racing,wrestling, and archery.
    (2) Wrestling and hrse racing.
    2.Students read the diary carefully again with the last tw questins frm activity 1.After reading the diary, the students share their views in grups. Then the teacher asks sme students t answer the questins.

    Teachers raise questins t guide students t analyze the chapter structure f this diary and think abut hw t describe the festival experience.

    (2)Hw did the writer arrange his/her ideas?
    (3)What kind f interesting details did the writer describe?
    (4)Hw did the writer describe his/her feelings/emtins during the event?
    2. Students read and cmpare the three sentence patterns in activity 2. Try t rewrite the first paragraph f the diary with these three sentence patterns. After that, students exchange crrectins with their partners.Such as:

    In additin t the use f the -ing frm and the past participle, the teacher shuld guide the students in the appreciatin f these statements, ask them t memrize them, and encurage them t use them reasnably in writing practice.

    Writing preparatin.Students review their recent hliday experiences and list in shrt phrases all the activities, events and feelings related t the hliday.
    2. Draw an utline.Students review the discurse analysis methd f Activity 2, and fill in the name, cntent details and emtinal feelings f the festival r celebratin in the utline frm f Activity 3, and draw up the writing utline f the diary.
    3. Write a first draft.Then write an pening sentence that intrduces the tpic and verall feeling f the article, a rich bdy paragraph, and a cnclusin summarizing the hliday experience.
    4. Peer review.Students wrk in pairs t exchange the first draft, review each ther accrding t the six pints in activity 3, and write Suggestins fr revisin.Students further mdify the essay based n feedback frm their peers.
    5. Writing and sharing.Students can share and discuss in grups after finishing the revisin, and recmmend excellent cmpsitins t be displayed r read alud in class.The teacher cmments n the students' wrk, pints ut the advantages and suggests the mdificatin.In additin, the teacher can als pst the excellent cmpsitin in the classrm fr everyne t appreciate.
