1:
I started t pedal and the bicycle mved. Sweat welling n my frehead, I tried my utmst t keep the balance by cntrlling the handle. Srt f afraid as I was, I made myself calm dwn because I knew my dad wuld keep prtecting me. What I needed t d was hlding the bars and keeping pedaling. With it mving, I felt it wasn’t as difficult as I had expected and even began t speed up. S delighted was I that I wanted t yell ut and share my feelings with my dad.
I turned arund and fund my dad was nt behind. A great sense f shck and scare seized me and my mind suddenly went blank. My bdy began shaking and I fell ff the bicycle. Lying n the grund, I felt great pains n my legs. Then Dad apprached and said, “Be manly.” Regaining my curage, I climbed nt the bicycle again. I held the bars tightly and made effrts t balance my bdy. My father cmmented I was ne f the quickest learners he had ever seen. But he didn't realize it was the almighty sense f security and trust frm him that played the best part.
2:
I started t pedal and the bicycle mved. “Lk straight frward and keep hld f the handle tightly!” My father emphasized. With palms sweating and legs trembling, I made every effrt t keep the balance and the bike was winding frward slwly. Deeply cnvinced that my dad was hlding my back seat, I was much in relief and wbbled ff dwn the rad. All f a sudden, I stumbled n the uneven grund and fell flat n my face. A sharp pain swept acrss my whle bdy and I culdn’t help bursting int tears.
I turned arund and fund my dad was nt behind. In a fit f anger, I blurted ut, “Dad, yu prmised t hld my back seat, why did yu let it g?” My dad ran up t me, carefully checked my situatin and cmfrted, “Dear, actually yu have pedaled fr abut 50 yards, by yurself!” Rted t the spt, I almst culdn’t believe my ears. Everything is difficult befre they are easy. Try again?” Inspired by his wrds, I picked up my curage and had a secnd try, finally realizing what being a man was all abut.
3:
I started t pedal and the bicycle mved. With butterflies in my stmach, my shaky hands gripped the handles tightly and my heart punded as the bike’s acceleratin increased. The mment I thught my dad was n guard behind, I felt a great sense f security, gradually easing my mind. Hwever, the bike was wbbly and maneuvered in a zigzag pattern and I barely managed t keep cntrl. Sn a familiar vice sunded frm behind, “Shift yur weight n yur pedal alternately and lk straight ahead.” Fllwing my dad’s instructins, I eventually learnt hw t maintain a balance n it. The previus mnster-sized material nw turned int a fun ty in my hand. Intxicated with ecstasy, I culdn’t wait t share the feelings with dad.
I turned arund and fund my dad was nt behind. Suddenly a thrill f nervusness and helplessness ran thrugh me, leaving me wrng-fted. In n time, I lst my balance and cntrl f the bike, tumbling dwn nt the hard cncrete rad and scraping my knees. I burst int tears and cmplained bitterly t dad abut his absence. Dad came ver and said, “N ne can prtect yu fr lng. As a man, yu have t learn t depend n yurself.” Struggling inward fr a while, I wiped away tears and jumped t the bicycle again. This time, I rde it alne fr 50 yards. Mst imprtantly, the riding experience bubbles t the surface f my memry when I hesitate t try smething new, which ften turns ut t be fascinating and refreshing.
4:
I turned arund and fund my dad was nt behind. I hesitated by the bicycle, with fear lingering in my mind. Seeing my unwillingness, dad said, “Trust me! As yu jump n and pedal ff, then I will fllw yu behind, serving as yur guard.” Taking a deep breath, I gt n the bike but I had n idea what I was ding. It seemed that everything went wrng. The handlebars were backwards, and s was my helmet. Befre I began t pedal, dad instructed me in the right psture n the bike and demnstrated the prper pedaling t me in case I had an awful first experience. With several drills dne, dad thught I had gt the hang f riding and rdered, “Time t g.”
I started t pedal and the bicycle mved. My adrenalin was pumping and I kept pedaling faster and faster. T my surprise, my fear f falling gave way t excitement sn after I started pedaling.
