    Last week I was n my way hme. I checked my phne. It was 12:15 p.m. I thught abut thse tw times when I had seen apple cres thrwn ver the wall. But suddenly, anther apple cre was thrwn ver with speed!
    Enugh was enugh. Smene culd be really hurt by these cres. Did the student(s) nt realize that peple live acrss the wall? Or did they nt care?
    I tld my friend abut it. “Yu shuld just thrw the apple back ver the wall. That will teach them,” my friend suggested. But I dn’t want t play that “game”. As they say, an eye fr an eye leaves the whle wrld blind.
    Maybe I’ll call the schl and let them knw. The students need t knw that they might hurt smene if they keep thrwing their waste. What’s mre, waste belngs in the bin, nt anywhere else.

And anther 29 percent f parents have arguments with their kids ften when they have different answers t the same questin.
    Nw several educatin scientists strngly advise parents t stp helping. They say it will give their kids mre independence and give parents back their free time. At the same time, the number f hmewrk – cnnected arguments will be less at hme. Katy Smith, an educatin scientist, says, “ Yu dn’t have t knw everything. Children need t put their hands up fr help and s d parents. Use yur resurces – nline teachers, r even yur neighbrhd – just ask.”

    Schl fficials, teachers and parents are all trying t find ut the best way t supervise students’ use f mbile r cellphnes.
    In the Canadian prvince f Ontari, fficials are restricting (限制) phne use during teaching time. Hwever, there are exceptins fr classrm activities, health and ther emergencies.
    France passed a law in 2018 banning (禁止) the use f cellphnes in schls fr students up t age 15, the age when they g t high schl.
    Last July, a new law was signed in Califrnia. It says state public and charter schls can ban students frm using smart phnes in class and at schl. It des nt, hwever, say schls are required t cmpletely ban the devices. There are exceptins, which include emergencies r prblems related t health.
    S, the fficials turned t technlgy fr answers. San Mate High Schl nw lcks up cell phnes during the day in a special cntainer. Each student must put his phne away in small bag with a kind f lck. At the end f the day, students unlck the bag with a device.
    Other schls are chsing simpler answers t the prblem—they ban cellphnes in classrms. “They wanted t prvide a clean break fr students and nt have the frenetic energy that can happen if kids start texting each ther r scial-media psts start ging,” Behm said.
    Educatin Week fund that mre than 30 schls, and in sme cases schl districts, have put in place sme kind f restrictins during the current r last schl year. Districts acrss the cuntry als have their wn ways f phne restrictins bth frmal r infrmal.
    Tth said students have grwn up with cellphnes, and “it is ur respnsibility t teach them crrect use fr tls within the classrm.” He added that schls are teaching abut cellphnes and hw t use them with scial media and the Internet.
