Just as yu are reading this cllectin f letters and find meaning in it, musicians read ntes and create meaning in the frm f music which we can hear. S just as yu read English, yu can read music. By writing pieces f text r music, we are able t share experiences thrugh time. I can read r hear the ideas f smene wh lived hundreds f years ag, which is really quite exciting.

I am a persn wh has always lved reading. Fr me, it is easy t get lst in a bk and return t the wrld a cuple f hurs later having been n an adventure. As a 6-year-ld, I culd be fund reading Harry Ptter, a difficult bk fr a 6-year-ld but I enjyed it all the same. Nw, as a student, it is harder t find the time t read bks fr pleasure; hwever, I relish the summers where I have the time t read t satisfy myself. Grwing up, it sn became clear that spelling fr me was nt difficult and I had a wide vcabulary. This is because I began reading frm such a yung age.
My advice fr yu as English learners wuld be t read the bks that yu have ften read in yur wn language in English. Reading, stries especially, is a great way f imprving yur vcabulary and spelling withut nticing as yu are lst in the stry. Fr me, I have read Harry Ptter and the Philspher’s Stne in French and am currently reading Harry Ptter and the Chamber f Secrets in Spanish. This is a really useful way f being able t read in anther language because I knw the stry s well in English, it is easy t fllw the stry in the freign language even if I d nt understand every wrd.
This is anther imprtant pint: it is nt necessary t understand every wrd. If yu understand the meaning f the sentence, each wrd is nt necessarily imprtant. Smetimes it is impssible t translate directly frm ne language t anther. Quite ften, if a wrd is used several times in a text, yu can gain yur wn meaning frm it and it makes much mre sense than if yu tried t translate it in the first place.
Give it a try. If yu like reading yu culd be pening up a whle new wrld f literature.

While visiting an nline cllege fair can’t take the place f an actual campus visit, it can be a very useful tl that alng with all yur ther research will help yu make a wise decisin abut which clleges yu’d like t attend.
