Mre students than ever befre are taking a gap year (间隔年) befre ging t university. It used t be called the “year ff” between schl and university. The gap-year phenmenn riginated (起源) with the mnths left ver t Oxbridge applicants between entrance exams in Nvember and the start f the next academic year.

But nt everyne is happy. Owain James, the president f the Natinal Unin f Students (NUS), argued that the increase is evidence f student hardship—yung peple are being frced int earning mney befre finishing their educatin. “New students are nw aware that they are likely t leave university up t £ 15,000 in debt. Their building is a frmer autmbile electrical-parts film in Atlanta. Frm the utside, it lks t ld, even smething hrrible, but pen the dr and yu are in a wide, pen curtyard, lined n three sides with rusting (生锈的) walls.
In 2000, Ycum and Bell fund this building in the city’s West End. Built in 1947, the structure had been abandned years earlier and the rf f the main building had fallen dwn. But the price was right, s Ycum bught it. He spent eight mnths f his ff-hurs n demlitin (排除), pulling rubbish ut thrugh the rf, because it was t dangerus t g inside the building.
