In this creative art class, students will learn the rich histry f embridery and hw t use it in unexpected and cntemprary ways.
What t Expect
A variety f stitches(针法)and techniques will be taught? with an emphasis n embridery as a drawing medium. Textile(纺织的) arts frm the museum's cllectin will be used fr inspiratin f students’ wn artwrks.

“His artist eye was in everything he did. His life was art and his family,” said Jennifer C. In 1966 he entered the University f Illinis at Chicag, where he btained bachelr's degree in 1966 in fine develped his interest and skills as a sculptr after mving t Baltimre t d further studies at the Maryland Institute Cllege f Art’s Rinehart Schl f Sculpture, frm which he graduated in 1971 with a master's degree in fine arts.
“Over the years my wrk has mved gradually in the directin f elegance and simplicity,” Mr. Fergusn wrte in his artist statement.“Heavy, bulbus(鳞荟状的)frms have been replaced by dancing, winglike frms. The welding(焊接)prcess and the quality f the materials are interrelated and affect the final sculptures. Mst f the sculptures that are pictured in my wrks are made frm steel, silicn brnze and COR-TEN steel and shaped t create these beautiful and unique pieces f art. As yu can see, my sculptures range in size anywhere frm 12 inches t 30 feet r larger.”
