Islating behavir stps the spread f the virus. “Smething that’s quite interesting in these ants that’s been shwn by the study is that in their ability t avid infecting ther members f the cmmunity, ants may be mre advanced than we are,” Natha said.

This is an excerpt frm a speech at the United Natins headquarters given by Emma Watsn, wh starred in Harry Ptter series.
Tday we are launching a campaign (called “He Fr She”). I am reaching ut t yu because we need yur help. We want t end gender inequality, and t d this, we need everyne invlved. This is the first campaign f this kind in the UN. We want t try t invlve as many men and bys as pssible t be advcates fr change.
I started questining gender-based assumptin a lng time ag. When I was 8, I was cnfused being called bssy because I wanted t direct a play that we put n fr ur parents, but the bys were nt. When I was 14, I started t be sexualized by certain elements f the media. At 15, my girlfriends started drpping ut f a lt f sprts teams because they didn’t want t appear masculine (男性化的). At 18, my male friends were unable t express their feelings.
I decided that I was a feminist (女权主义者). This seemed uncmplicated t me. But my recent research has shwn me that feminism has becme an unppular wrd. Wmen are chsing nt t identify as feminists. Why has the wrd becme such an uncmfrtable ne? I’m frm Britain and I think it is right that I am paid the same as my male cunterparts. I think it is right that I shuld make decisins abut my wn bdy. I think it is right that wmen be invlved n my behalf in the plicies and decisins that will affect my life. I think it is right that scially, I am affrded the same respect as men.
But sadly, I can say that there is n ne cuntry in the wrld where all wmen can expect t receive these rights. N cuntry in the wrld can yet say that they have achieved gender equality. These rights, I cnsidered t be human rights, but I am ne f the lucky nes.
My life is a sheer privilege because my parents didn’t lve me less because I was brn a daughter. My schl did nt limit me because I was a girl. My tutrs didn’t assume that I wuld end up nwhere because I might give birth t a child ne day. These influences were the gender equality ambassadrs that made me wh I am tday. They may nt knw it but they are the unintentinal feminists wh are changing the wrld tday. We need mre f thse.
Men, I wuld like t take this pprtunity t extend yu a frmal invitatin. Gender equality is yur issue, t. Because t date, I’ve seen yung men suffering frm mental illness, unable t ask fr help fr fear it will make them less f a man, r less f men. I’ve seen men made fragile and insecure by false sense f male success. Men dn’t have the benefits f equality, either. Bth men and wmen shuld feel free t be sensitive; bth men and wmen shuld be free t be strng. This is what “He Fr She” is abut. It’s abut freedm.
Yu might be thinking: wh is this Harry Ptter girl? What is she ding at the UN? I’ve been asking myself at the same thing. All I knw is that I care abut this prblem and I want t make it better. And having seen what I’ve seen and given the chance, I feel my respnsibility t say smething. Statesman Edmund Burke said all that is needed fr the frces f evil t triumph is fr gd men and wmen t d nthing.
In my nervusness fr this speech and in my mment f dubt, I tld myself firmly: if nt me, wh? If nt nw, when? If yu have similar dubts when pprtunities are presented t yu, I hpe thse wrds wuld be helpful. Because the reality is that if we d nthing, it will take 75 years, r fr me it will be nearly 100 befre wmen can be expected t be paid as same as men fr the same wrk. 15.5 millin girls will be married in the 16 years as children. At current rate, it will be until 2086 befre all rural African girls can have secndary educatin. We are struggling fr a uniting wrld, but the gd news is that we have a uniting mvement. It is called “He Fr She”. I am inviting yu t step frward, t be seen and t ask yurself: if nt me, wh? If nt nw, when?
    Thank yu.

C.believe in her as the spkespersn f Harry Ptter series

This ptimism can act as a self-fulfilling prphecy. By believing that we will be successful, peple are in fact mre likely t be successful.
___20___ After all, if we didn’t believe that we culd achieve success, why wuld we even bther trying? Optimists are als mre likely t take measures t prtect their health such as exercising, taking vitamins, and fllwing a nutritius diet.
A.Optimism als mtivates us t pursue ur gals.
B.But we are als highly mtivated t be s ptimistic.
C.But definitely nt everyne is blessed with such luck.
D.This is because yur brain has a built-in ptimism bias.
E.It can als lead t pr decisin-making, which can smetimes have disastrus results.
F.This ptimism enhances well-being by creating a sense f anticipatin abut the future.
G.Varius causes may lead t the ptimistic bias, including cgnitive and mtivatinal factrs.

65.It was her ability that made her stand ut frm all the participants.
    【详解】
考查强调句。本句描述过去发生的事情,用一般过去时。强调句句型为:it is/was +被强调部分+that/wh +其他部分。本句强调主语部分“她的能力”,表示“是她的能力”为it was her ability;强调部分是事物,故用that引导后文;表示“让她在所有参与者中脱颖而出”为made her stand ut frm all the participants, make sb. d sth.是固定用法,不带t不定式作宾补,介词短语frm all the participants作状语。句首字母大写,故翻译为It was her ability that made her stand ut frm all the participants.
