The content of lesson is the Second volume of seventh grade Human Education Edition Unit 12: What did you do last weekend? This unit is about weekend activities. By studying of this unit, students will enable to use the past simple tense to talk about their weekend activities and ask about others' weekend activities. At the same time, let students learn how to talk about events in the past.
This period is the first lesson of Reading. The lesson focuses on talking about Lisa's experience last weekend, aiming at letting students grasp the past tense further. This topic of this unit is close to students' life, further promoting mutual understanding between students, so that students in a relaxed and happy atmosphere to learn.
- Analysis of students
The objects of this lesson are students in Grade 7. Students in this phase has already learned simple past tense, thus they must have mastered some skills of tense-learning and fully prepared to learn the lesson cognitively.
Teaching objectives
- Knowledge objectives
(1) The students can master the usage of the important words and expression, such as high school, scary, camp, put up tent, make a fire, wake up, what did you do last weekend and so on.
(2) The students can use the past sense in the proper situation.
(3) The students can understand the context of the lesson, talk about their weekend activities and get their own idea about how to had a lovely weekend and a nice time.

(1) To improve the student's ability of reading, especially their skimming and scanning ability.
(2) To be capable of listening, speaking, reading and writing by using the past tense.
(3) Grasp and clarify the structure of the text by looking for key sentences and chronological order.
- Emotion objectives
(1) To train the students' abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating.
(2) To guide students to realize the importance of forming good study habits and arranging their time properly.
(3) To broaden students' horizons by learning about snakes.
(4) To overcome the fear of animals, and love animals.

- Master all phrasal verbs in the article, such as finished high school, went camping, took a long bus ride and so on.
- Mater the writing of past tense verbs.
- Understand the use of different time expressions to understand the logical order of the day's activities.

Step 1. Guessing Game
Use English to say what the picture is doing, to recall the words in the last lesson, to deepen the memory, to help understand the passage.
Step 2. Showing pictures and asking questions
Show some pictures of animal. Let students answer "what's this?"
The teacher: Are you scared of these animal? what kind of animals are you afraid of? Why?
Ask several students to share their ideas in front of whole class.

Look at the picture and the topic "A Weekend to Remember" and predict: How was Lisa's weekend?
Step 2. Skimming
Skim the passage again, and answer the questions.
