1. poor   

adj. 用作形容词, 有几种含义：

（1）意思为“贫穷的；穷困的”。指生活拮据，不富裕。如：

In the past, many people are too poor to go to school. 在过去很多人因为太穷而上不了学。

（2）意思为“贫瘠的”。指土地不肥沃。如：

The soil in this area is very poor. 这个地区土壤很贫瘠。

（3）意思为“可怜的”。用来对某人表示同情。如：

The poor girl doesn’t have enough food to eat. 这个可怜的女孩没有足够的食物吃。

2. expensive

 adj. 昂贵的，相当于dear。其反义词为cheap。如：

①The car is very expensive. I can’t buy it.这辆车很贵, 我买不起。

②I like the colour , but they are too expensive . 我喜欢这颜色，但它们太贵了。

expensive的同义词是dear。

3. pair n. 是可数名词，其复数形式是pairs，其意思为“双，对，副”。如：

①My mother often buys me a pair of shoes. 我母亲经常为我买一双鞋。
