Unit 2 This year we are training more carefully.

一、教学目标

1. 能够掌握新词汇和短语：beat, careless, coach, against, cheer…on, play against, warm up等。

2. 能够掌握重点句型：

We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up.

We are training harder than usual because the other team beat us last year.

That means we have a better chance of winning.

They cheer us on loudly and we feel more confident to win the game.

3. 能够读懂描写体育运动的短文，明确文章的主旨大意，并能够从文章找出信息，正确回答相关问题。

4. 能够运用形容词和副词的比较级来描写体育运动。

5. 通过本课的学习，能够意识到体育竞技项目的团队意识，提高凝聚力。

二、教学重点及难点

重点：

1. 掌握本单元的新单词和短语。

2. 读懂描写体育运动的短文，明确文章的主旨大意，并能够从文章找出信息，正确回答相关问题。

难点：

运用形容词和副词的比较级来描述体育运动。

三、教学准备

1. 多媒体设备和课件；

2. 设计课后巩固练习；

3. 教学图片。

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up

Look at the pictures and talk about them.

【设计意图】通过看图说话的方式，检测学生对所学知识的掌握情况，同时激发学生参与课堂的兴趣。

Step 2 Pre-reading

1. T shows some pictures one by one. Then ask the class to read the new words and expressions.

【设计意图】通过看图学单词和短语，帮助学生理解和记忆新知。

2. T asks Ss to go through the words and expressions and checks if they know the meanings of all the words and expressions.

3. Ask Ss to work in groups and talk about the pictures. Remind Ss to use the words and expressions in the box.

4. Invite some Ss to share their answers.

Step 3 While-reading

1. Ss read the passage and match each paragraph with the main idea.

2. T asks the class to read Para.1 and answer the questions.

3. T asks the class to read Para.2 and 3 and answer the questions.

4. Ss read Para.4 and fill in the blanks.

5. T asks Ss to read and complete the table.

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Fill in the blanks and retell the passage.

2. Learn the language points.

(1) I am in our school team and we are going to play against another school next week. 我是校队成员，我们下周将要和另一所学校比赛。

(2) We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up. 我们都尽可能早到校，以便我们有时间热身。

(3) We are training harder than usual because the other team beat us last year. 我们比平常更加刻苦地训练，因为另一支球队去年打败过我们。

(4) This year we want to do better. 今年我们想做得更好。

(5) That means we have a better chance of winning. 这意味着我们有更大的获胜机会。

3. Complete the passage with the words in the box.

8. Learn the writing guide.

9. T asks the class to write a passage about the school basketball team.

10. Ask some volunteers to share their passages with the whole class.
