Step 1 Pre-task

1. Get students to read the new words and useful expressions freely ,then let them dictate them in their dictation books.
2. Have students read the passage on their own , then choose some students to retell the passage.

Step 2 While-task

1. Have students read the passage freely ,then get students to answer some questions:

(3)    How do they celebrate Halloween ?

(4)    What do they usually do on the evening of October 31 ?

2. Have students read the passage in groups ,then talk about some useful language points.
