Zhalong is a nature reserve (保护区) in Heilongjiang in Northeast China. It is one of the world's most important wetlands. The area provides food and shelter for wildlife. It is an ideal home for different kinds of plants, fish and birds.

Many birds live comfortably in Zhalong Nature Reserve all year round, while some only stay for a short time. There are many fish in the wetlands, and the birds can easily catch them for food. Zhalong Nature Reserve is an important living area for the rare red-crowned cranes (). There are not many red-crowned cranes in the world. Some of them live in Zhalong.

Some people want to change the wetlands to make more space for farms and buildings. This means that there will be less and less space for wildlife.

More and more birds are in danger because they do not have enough living space. Many of them died. The Chinese government wants to protect these endangered birds, so they can be safe in Zhalong.

Every year a lot of tourists go to Zhalong to watch birds. This year members of our Bird Watching Club are going to study the different kinds of birds in Zhalong and the changes in their numbers.

We do a bird count once a year. We are now inviting secondary school students to help. We need more people to help us count and do something to help the birds. C(2023·江苏连云港中考改编)

You might have seen beautiful rainbows in the sky before. They form when sunlight falls on water drops in the air. But in fact, moonlight can also create rainbows in the same way. They are called "moonbows". They are similar to rainbows, but they are created by moonlight instead of direct sunlight.

Moonbows are rarer than rainbows. Different weather and astronomical (天文学的) conditions have to be just right for moonbows to be created.

The moon has to be very low in the sky — only 42 degrees from the horizon (地平线). The moon period has to be a full moon or nearly full. The sky must be very dark for a moonbow to be watched clearly — any bright light can obscure (使模糊) it. Water drops must appear in the air in the opposite direction of the moon.

Moonbows appear on the opposite side of the moon and usually look white to the human eye. This is because their colors are not bright enough to be noticed by the human eye. It is possible, however, to view the colors in a moonbow using long exposure (长时间曝光) photography.

Moonbows more often appear in some locations around the world. Most of these locations have waterfalls, which create thin fog in the air. Some of these locations are the Yosemite National Park in California and Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Kentucky, US; Victoria Falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe; and Waimea in Hawaii, US.

Moonbows do really happen. So at a certain time and a certain place, when a moonbow happens to appear, you can't miss it if you're right there.

( )32.According to the first two paragraphs, moonbows are

        .

A.created by sunlight B.much easier to find

C.seen during the day D.more difficult to form

( )33.Which of the following can be the conditions for a moonbow to form?

A.A half moon hangs high in the bright sky.

B.A full moon is 50 degrees from the horizon.

C.A nearly full moon hangs low in the dark sky.

D.Water drops are in the opposite direction of the sun.

    ( )34.What is Paragraph 5 mainly about?

    A.Conditions of moonbows.

    B.Background of moonbows.

    C.Locations of moonbows.

    D.Development of moonbows.

    D(2023·浙江杭州萧山区六校联考)

A snow maze(迷宫)in Western Canada has broken the record for the world's biggest. According to Guinness World Records, the huge 2,789.11 square meters of maze beats the previous (先前的) Canadian record holder at Fort William Historical Park in Thunder Bay.

For years, farmers Clint and Angie Masse would be busy building a corn maze on their farm just outside of the small town of St Adolphe. Knowing there would be a long, cold winter in Canada, they decided to make a big snow maze instead.

But it was not an easy thing, Clint Masse told AFP. He said building the maze required weeks of planning, tens of thousands of dollars and 370 trucks of snow. "Making snow is really expensive," he said, pointing to the cost of renting (租借) generators, tractors and other equipment (设备), fuel and weeks of labor(劳动).

There were design challenges too. "You're not designing a path. What you are doing is designing walls and every wall has a double duty: it's got a path on this side and a path on that side," Masse said. The couple used computer-aided design software.

Although temperatures dropped to a low of -40 degrees Celsius in January, people kept coming in droves. Inside the maze, visitors walked between walls of snow that were 1.8 meters high. "It was fun," one of the visitors Crooks said. "We just kept turning every possible way. It took us a while. We didn't time it; we should have. Maybe half an hour? Yep!" If cold temperatures held, the maze could stay open for a few more weeks, and Clint Masse said he hoped to have more than 10,000 visitors.

( )35.We can infer from the text that .

    A. Clint and Angie changed their ideas about what to make because of the weather

    B. it was easy to build the snow maze

    C. few visitors came when the temperatures dropped to a low of -40 ℃

    D. Clint and Angie were farmers who grew cotton

( )36.What can we know from the passage?

    A. The only difficulty of making the maze was the high cost.

    B. The maze has already received 10,000 visitors.

    C. The winter in Canada is always long and cold.

    D. It's very expensive to build this maze.

( )37.What do Clint and Angie Masse need to make their snow maze?

    a. tens of thousands of dollars

    b. 370 trucks of snow

    c. some corn

    d. computer-aided design software

    e. generators, tractors and other equipment

    A. a, b, c, e B. a, b, c, d

    C. a, b, d, e D. b, c, d, e

( )38.Which of the following shows the structure of the text?
