Step 1   Warming up 

Sing a song.  

Free talk. Talking about some food.

Step 2  Presentation and practice

1. Look at the picture 1 and answer the questions.

      Who has got an email?

      Who is the email from?

What is the email about?

2. Use CD-ROM to show the passage. Answer the question: What did she have for breakfast?

Find the answer: She had eggs and sausages.

Then practice in pairs.

3. Ask the students to listen to the second part and answer the question: What did she have for lunch?

Find the answer: She had sandwiches.

Listen and repeat.

4. Ask the students to read the 4th part and answer the question: What did she have for dinner?

Find the answer: She had fish and chips.

Ask and answer in pairs.

Then listen and answer 3 questions:

Is fish and chips a traditional English dinner?

Does Lingling like English food?

What does she say?

5. Ask the students to read and fill in the blanks.

Yesterday Lingling had ____ and ______ for breakfast. She had _______ for lunch. And she had____ and _____ for dinner. They were delicious but very different.

6. Listen and repeat.

Step 3  Consolidation and extension

 1. Ask students to have a practice on page 7.

 2. Write an email to Lingling.

Dear Lingling,

Yesterday I had _____ for breakfast.  I had _____ for lunch. And I had ____ for dinner. They were delicious.

Step 4  Summary

Guide the students to recall what they learnt in this class. Review the important words and sentences again.
