教学内容分析 Content Analysis | ⚫Subject context---man and self. Through multi-modal discourses, this unit constructs the unit theme from different angles. Inspired to reflect on their family relationship, Ss learn to face up to the conflicts between family members and establish correct values on family. ⚫Discourse analysis:Starting out part involves a video “Grandfather’s trunk”as well as four family-related cartoons from different countries.Understanding ideas “Like father like son” is a play showing a conflict between father and son about choosing son’s future career and then grandfather helps to analyse the situation and gives them advice. | ||||
学情分析 Students Analysis | 1.Having a relatively low English level and a limited vocabulary, Ss need to be encouraged to voice out in class and offered some supportive information if necessary. 2. Ss are new in the school and most of them will be afraid to show themselves in English. Since the topic of this unit is closely related to Ss’ real life, T should be patient to encourage them to take an active part in activities, because the real scene will motivate the enthusiasm for learning. | ||||

Look at the pictures and answer the questions. 1) What do you already know about these families? Which family do you relate to most? Give your reasons. 2) What is your own family like?
2.Tick the things you would ask your parents about for advice. | To train Ss to acquire the ability of obtaining the information by watching the video.(instant feedback)

Step 2 Reading | Activity1: Reading for main idea 1.Analyse what is a play (Learning to learn )(CW) 2. Read the play and find out the conflict between the son and his father. (IW) 3. Choose another suitable title for the play and give your reasons.(IW) Activity2: Reading for specific information(GW) 1.Look through the play and ask students to add the tags to the director’s notes. 2.Do some exercises 1) True or False questions 2) Gap filling questions adapted from the passage Activity3:Reading for opinions(IW) 1.If you were in a similar situation to the son, what would you do? 2. What conflicts have you had with your parents? How did you solve them? | To let Ss get to know basic elements of a play.
To connect each paragraph quickly by scanning, and grab the main conflict.
To learn to analyse the structure of the passage and grasp the details of the article to improve the Ss’ reading comprehension ability .
