Have you ever worked out on a treadmill (跑步机)? Did you find it interesting or boring? Actually, this machine was first made for prisons (监狱)!

In 1818, a British engineer named William Cubitt invented the first treadmills.    1    The prisoners were asked to work on the machines to make corn pieces and to pump water. They usually had to spend seven or more hours a day on it.
