Most families have computers now. In the past we didn't have computers. We didn't even have lights. My mother used to spend all day cooking in the kitchen. But now nobody eats home-cooked food any more.

Whether from news reports or social media articles, you may know that 5G is coming.
5G is the 5th generation network. It is a new network after 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. It can connect everyone and everything together. 5G networks will cover many cities in China soon. 5G means super-fast data speed. One can download a two-hour movie for fewer than 10 seconds, and it is making our lives more and more convenient.
5G will make self-driving cars possible. For safety, self-driving cars need super-fast data transmission (传输)to communicate with their nearby environment. 5G is just what makes self-driving cars achieve this. Even airplanes will become “smart” in the near future. Passengers will be able to use 5G networks in the air to connect to the Internet and can order for food and drinks.
5G will be a big help for students who take online classes. Many people live in poor areas in the world where there are no schools. But with 5G, this will change. Students all over the world will be able to see places like the Great Wall without leaving their rooms.
It will be also easier for doctors to treat patients remotely by 5G. It means caring for patients from far away.
The facts listed above are only a part of what 5G will make possible and popular. Just as in the early days of the Internet in the 1990s, few could see how it could change our life and the world. The same will surely be true of 5G. With 5G, many things do not seem like dreams any more. Now let’s get ready to say goodbye to 4G and welcome the coming of 5G.
56.How long may it take to download a two-hour movie with 5G?
    A.15 seconds. B.8 seconds. C.10 minutes. D.2 hours.
57.The underlined word “remotely” means “________” in Chinese.
    A.快速地 B.高效地 C.远程地 D.科学地
58.5G will make the following things more and more popular EXCEPT ________.
    A.self-driving cars B.”smart” airplanes C.online classes D.hospitals without doctors
59.About 5G, ________ is NOT mentioned in the passage.
A.to be used freely B.super-fast data speed
C.to connect everyone and everything together D.to make life more convenient than 4G
60.From the last paragraph, we can know that ________.
A.4G is no more used in our daily life now
B.the writer is worried about the coming of 5G
C.with 5G, some of our dreams will come true for sure one day
D.in the 1990s, all the people believed that the Internet would change our life

More and more people around the world are joining in dangerous sports. Some people climbed the highest mountains; some traveled into unknown parts of the world; some sailed small boats across the largest sea. Now some people begin to look for new excitement.
Bungee jumping (蹦极) and motorcycle racing (摩托车赛) are quite dangerous sports. Bungee jumping only lasts for a few minutes or even seconds. You jump from a high place, about 200 meters above the ground, and there is a rubber band (橡胶带子) tied to your legs. When you jump down, the rubber band pulls you up. About 2,000,000 people around the world have tried bungee jumping.
Why do people join in these dangerous sports? Some scientists say that it is because modern life has become safe and it is not interesting. In the past, people lived in danger. They had to go out and look for food, and life was like a fight but was interesting.

Many people believe Henry Ford invented the car. But Henry Ford did not start to build his first car until 1896. That was eleven years after two Germans developed the world's first car. Many people believe Henry Ford invented the production line(生产线) that moved a car's parts(零部件) to the worker, instead of making the worker move to the parts. That is not true, either. Many factory owners used methods of this kind before Ford. What Henry Ford did was to use other people's ideas and make them better. And he made the whole factory a moving production line.
In the early days of the automobile, almost every car maker raced his cars. It was the best way of getting public notice. Henry Ford decided to build a racing car. Ford's most famous race was his first one. It was also the last race in which he drove the car himself.
The race was in 1901, at a field near Detroit. All of the most famous cars had entered, but only two were left: the Winton and Ford. The Winton was famous for its speed. Most people thought the race was over before it began.
The Winton took an early lead. But halfway through the race, it began to lose power. Ford started to gain. And near the end of the race, he took the lead. Ford won the race and defeated the Winton. His name appeared in newspapers and he became wellknown all over the United States. Within weeks of the race, Henry Ford formed a new automobile company. In 1903, a doctor in Detroit bought the first car from the company. That sale was the beginning of Henry Ford's dream. Ford said: “I will build a motor car for most of people. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for one person to operate and care for. It will be built of the best materials. It will be built by the best men. It will be so low in price that everybody can afford”
The Model T was a car of that kind. It only cost $850. It was a simple machine that drivers could depend on. Doctors bought the Model T. So did farmers. Americans loved the Model T. They wrote stories and songs about it. Thousands of Model T's were built in the first few years.
36.What do we know about Henry Ford from Paragraph 1 ?

37.Why did Henry Ford take part in the 1901 car race?
A.To show off(炫耀) his driving skills.
    B.To draw public attention.
    C.To learn about new technology.
D.To raise money for his new company.
38.What was Henry Ford's dream according to the text?
    A.Producing cars for common people.
B.Building very fast racing cars .

    D.Starting more companies.
39.Why did Henry Ford become famous all over the United States ?
A.Because he started a new company.
B.Because he built the first car.
C.Because his car won the race.
D.Because he drove his car so well.
40.What can we infer about the car before Model T from the passage ?
