Most people don’t know about blobfish (水滴鱼)． They are the world’s ugliest animal．

Blobfish live in the sea near Australia and New Zealand． For most of time, they stay in the water between 600 to 1,200 meters deep． When some little fish swim past them, they try to catch them for food． They can grow up to 30cm long． They have very large heads, small bodies and thin tails． They look like a large jelly (果冻)． So they get their names．

On a summer day, a man sitting under a tree on the bank of a river, watched a group of ducks on the river．

Soon a branch（树枝）with leaves came drifting（漂浮）among them, and they all flew away． After circling in the air for a little time, they landed again on their feeding ground．

Soon another branch came drifting down among them, and again they took flight（飞行）from the river． But when they found the branch drifted by without any danger, they flew down to the water as before．
