Like other families, the Gross family had a jar (罐)full of small change at home. Teddy thought if he collected, or harvested the change in jars, he could give the money to homeless people.

“The delivery man has your food and is on his way.” This is a piece of information you may receive after you order food online. We know that delivery men bring your food to you. Do you believe that self-driving will bring food to you in the near future? That sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
Now Baidu and Meituan are working together to use self-driving technology (技术) to deliver food. They are going to make some self-driving cars. These companies use the self-driving cars to send group orders. For example, when a company orders food for people working there, a self-driving car will bring all of their orders to the company.
Online food ordering is becoming popular all around China, even in small villages. Till now, about 300 million users use different apps to order food online. Some researchers say that using self-driving cars will be a revolution (变革) in the food delivery. They will make a great difference in the future.
Some people think there must be some problems about using self-driving cars to deliver food. For example, self-driving cars can drive well on flat (平坦的) roads, but can they drive well when the road is not flat? People must work out such problems before they can use self-driving cars.
Some people say that we will use self-driving cars in the near future. They also say that delivery men will lose their jobs. Do you think so? My answer is “No.” because self-driving delivery cannot bring food to everyone in every city.

阅读短文,并按要求后完成文后各小题。
When you hear “single-use”, you might think of something like chopsticks from fast food restaurants. You use them once, throw them away and forget about them. But when we forget about them, we also forget that we’re creating waste.
“Single-use” was chosen as Collins Dictionary’s “Word of the Year” for 2018. The idea of single-use is not just about real objects that we can touch or see. It also includes the ways that we communicate.
On social media (社交媒体), we see pictures, news and articles everywhere. We look, laugh and keep scrolling (滚屏). We never look twice. This is called single-use media. It’s all about sharing the small things of our lives. For example, I know what restaurant all of my friends went to last night. However, I don’t know their deepest thoughts and feelings about serious problems. I don’t even know what their dinner tasted like. I look at their pictures and give them a “Like”. Then I “throw it away” and keep scrolling.
Social media nowadays makes it very easy for us to forget what we have lost. Before we use social media and send messages on the phone, we communicated by talking. We had to remember or write down important things. Many people also communicated by writing letters, which took time and energy. They had to think carefully about each sentence. People treasured (珍惜) and kept letters for years. A letter was serious. It’s a shared piece of the writer’s spirit.
On social media, we treat our friends and family like cheap chopsticks. It’s simple and efficient (有效率的) in use, but we don’t spend time sharing little pieces of our thoughts and feelings any more.
1题和2题完成句子题;3题简略回答问题,4找出并写下第四段的主题句,5题将文中划线句子译成汉语。
