There is nothing more common than asking, "Are you Okay?" If you are asking someone that, you can already tell that they are not. It's clear through body language, facial expressions, and a person's choice of words.
What I've realized is that asking if someone is okay only helps the person who asks the question. It's a cop-out. It makes you think that you "at least" tried to help. We all know that if you ask someone this question, they are most likely to answer, "I'm fine."
Choosing to care about others' health shouldn't be done in a careless way. You don't get a gold star for asking how someone is. In our society, it is expected that you ask. No one really cares. It's just a formality(礼节).
So how about changing the words? It's easier than you think. "How can I support you?" "Do you need to talk or do you need space?" "What can I do to make you feel better?"
Look at how the whole conversation can change if you take the time to choose a few more words. People would mostly like to give you a real answer to any of those questions. And maybe you are not the person they need at that moment. But if you know someone well enough, you know who they do need. And by having an answer to just one of those questions, you can go to find that person or do your best to be that person.
Life isn't about how you "helped" people. Life is about showing that you do help people.
    1. The common answer to the question "Are you OK?" is "_____".

    A. we should often know about others' health problems
    B. we should care about others' health in a careful way
    C. we should give a real answer to any of those questions
    4. The purpose of the passage is to tell us to _____.
    A. offer true help to others
    B. ask if someone is OK
    C. show kindness to others
    5. If you aren't well, a question like "_____" may enable you to tell the truth.
    A. Are you all right?
    B. How are you doing?
    C. What can I do to help you?
    C
Do you believe languages have magic power? Whenever I missed my family during my stay in America, I would talk with my friend who was also in the same school in Shanghai dialect. By speaking in this way, I seemed to go back to the neighborhood where I grew up.
When I was a kid, my mom couldn't spend much lime with me because of her job. To draw her attention, I began to learn German, a language she speaks well. Although at first I could only say "Ich liebe dich (I love you)". After a few months, I could have conversations with my mom.
After a trip to Israel(以色列)in high school, I became fascinated with Jewish (犹太的)culture and started to teach myself Hebrew(希伯来语).During the first months, I couldn't remember how to spell words, but then started to understand sentences quickly. Now I have a friend in Shanghai's Jewish community.
Gradually, I realized that languages are similar in some ways. As I learned French in university, I found many French words have the same meaning as English words. Though I only started learning French half a year ago, I have started reading books in French to better understand the language.
You see, languages bring me closer to the world. I walk on the streets of Paris through French novels. I admire the Jewish spirit of challenging the impossible. I will do my best to pass on the Shanghai dialect to young people. Languages make people closely related to each other, which is exactly needed in this world.

    A. start to learn languages at an early age

    C. languages have the power to bring people together

For a long time, a boy wondered why his desk male was always the first in the class, while he could only rank(排列) the 21st. At home, he asked his mom, "Am I more stupid than other kids? How can I always fall behind? I just can't come up with an answer." Mom realized that her son's self-respect (自尊心)had been hurt by the ranking system, but she didn't know what to say to help.
She wanted to say that intelligence (智力)is different and that yes, her son's deskmate really was the smarter boy. But that would make her son sad.
Her son and his desk mate went on to high school that year, but no matter how hard he tried, her son's desk mate still outdid him. But she was proud of her boy for his hard work. It was around this time that she decided to take him on a trip to the seaside. On the trip, she at last found an answer for him.
Today her son no longer cares about rankings. He doesn't have to, for he is now the top of the class—at the top national university. Invited to speak to his old high school, he mentioned a valuable childhood experience. It was about that holiday his mother had prepared for them, "I got the answer from my mother. Once, on a trip to the sea, my mother and 1 were lying on the beach. She pointed to the sea and said to me, 'Do you see the seabirds fighting for food out there?' When a wave comes near, the little birds rise quickly. The 'clumsy (笨拙的)' seagulls (海鸥)are far slower and have to try to get away from the wave. But these 'clumsy' birds have the biggest, strongest wings, which allow the bird to travel the furthest. When the season changes, they leave for foreign beaches, leaving the little birds behind. Son, I have a feeling that you are one of those seagulls."

We all know that if you ask someone this question, they are most likely to answer, 'I'm fine.'"可知,对"Are you OK?" 故选A。
It makes you think that you 'at least' tried to help."
根据第三段第一句 "Choosing to care about others' health shouldn't be done in a careless way."
故选A。
根据第四段第三至五句 "'How can I support you?' 'Do you need to talk or do you need space?' 'What can I do to make you feel better?'" What can I do to help you?"
When I was a kid, my mom couldn't spend much time with me because of her job." 故选A。
I became fascinated with Jewish(犹太的)culture and started to teach myself Hebrew(希伯来语)"和最后一句"Now I have a friend in Shanghai's Jewish community." 故选A。
根据第四段第一、二句 "Gradually, I realized that languages are similar in some ways…I found many French words have the same meaning as English words. I have started reading books in French to better understand the language"可知,渐渐地,作者意识到语言在某些方面是相似的,例如,有些法语单词和英语单词有相同的意思。
I will do my best to pass on the Shanghai dialect to young people. Languages make people closely related to each other"可知,dialect应指某种语言。 By speaking in this way, I seemed to go back to the neighborhood where I grew up." 故选A。
Languages make people closely related to each other, which is exactly needed in this world.
Mom realized that her son's self-respect(自尊心) had been hurt by the ranking system"可知,男孩的自尊心因排名受到了伤害。故选A。
It was about that holiday his mother had prepared for them, 'I got the answer from my mother. Once, on a trip to the sea, my mother and I were lying on the beach.'" 故选A。
    ②小标题"Check the source(来源)"中的关键词the source与C项中的"comes from"相对应,故所缺的句子是C项。
    ④根据此段的小标题"Look for other signs"及设空后的"These include..."
⑤根据设空前的"think about how the story makes you feel"可知, F项"如果一个新闻故事让你生气,那它很可能就是为了让你生气而设计的"符合语境。
    One possible version:
In my opinion, pain is common in our life. It makes us grow up and know the world and ourselves better. So we have to overcome it and learn from it.
I still remember the pain I suffered last year. My pet dog that lived with my family for seven years was killed in an accident. It caused me great pain. My mom talked with me one night. She told me life was full of the unexpected. I had to face it bravely. The happy time with my pet dog would always be in my mind. Gradually, I got used to my life without my pet dog and I became braver than before.
So to be a better man, we should face pain bravely and learn from it.
