    涉及本课阅读技能:

    1.从简单的文章中找出有关信息,理解大意。

    2.根据上下文猜测生词含义和推断故事情节

    本节课引导学生观察图片,阅读两个小故事,获取相关信息,理解故事情节;并根据已知信息猜测生词含义,最后按照图片和给出的关键词复述故事

    分析

    本课是北师大2011课标版初中英语九年级第四单元第12课,课型为阅读课。本课是一篇科幻故事类文章,围绕中考课标中第20个话题自然(Nature下的小话题宇宙(Universe ,训练学生的逻辑思维和推断的能力。虽然关于太空的话题不太贴近学生的日常生活,但是教材将其包裹在男孩Billy和小狗Oscar的一次平常的遭遇中,易于可以激发学生的学习兴趣和想象力。

    本课的教学设计分为两个课时。本节课为第一课时,通过图片和文字阅读,逐步引起学生的好奇心,激发学生发现问题和提出问题的兴趣,并通过小组合作阅读、讨论等方式自主找到问题的答案。             

    教学目标

    本节课结束后,学生能够

    1. 读懂男孩Billy和小狗Oscar遭遇的看似平常其实暗藏隐情的小故事;
    2. 在小组阅读的过程中,通过对关键词的推断和猜测,发现问题、提出问题

    自主解决问题;

    1. 根据图片和关键词,复述故事;能力稍强者可尝试续写故事或者改编故事。

    教学重难点

    1. 读懂男孩Billy和小狗Oscar遭遇的看似平常其实暗藏隐情的小故事;
    2. 小组阅读的过程中,通过对关键词的推断和猜测,发现问题、提出问题并

    2. Show the other picture of the boy and his dog, lead them to observe again and try to ask the question: What happened to them?

    从生活中的场景入手,引起学生兴趣;通过两张图片的对比,引发学生思考,激发好奇心,为后面通过阅读了解故事作心理上的铺垫。

    Reading Story 1

    1. Ask the students to read the story on their own.
    2. Ask them to exchange information with other group members. (They can refer to the vocabulary book.)
    3. Read the story aloud to them and ask questions about key points to help them understand. Blackboard writing.

     

    Reading Story 2

    1. Ask students to read the other story, first individually and then in a group as previous.

     

    1. Ask the students to underline the unfamiliar words. Lead the students to guess the meanings of the unfamiliar words in the context.
    2. Read the story together and ask questions. Lead them to consider the answer to the question in the beginning of the class. Blackboard writing.
    3. Analyze the relationship among the key words and show the plots of the stories and make them clear to the students.

    1. Write down the story in your own words, including the three characters.
    2. Continue to write the story, such as the spaceship, other aliens and so on.

    Story 1--- The boy and his dog

     

    “Come on!” called the boy. The dog was happy. He was wagging his tail. Billy gave the dog a biscuit. Suddenly, Billy and Oscar heard an unusual noise. Then they saw a light near some trees.

     

    Billy called Oscar again but he didn’t come. Oscar ran to the trees.

     

    Oscar smelled something. Maybe it was good to eat. He picked up a metal object with his teeth.

     

    Billy found Oscar. He was moving his head strangely. Billy shouted “Come here!” But Oscar didn’t move. He just looked at Billy.

     

    Oscar jumped at Billy and knocked him to the ground. “Oscar!” cried Billy. He was scared and hit Oscar on his head. Then something small fell out of Oscar’s ear and Oscar wagged his tail again.

     

    The boy and the dog ran across the field and went home.

     

     

     

     

    Story 2 ---The Spaceship

     

    A spaceship was trying to land on an unknown planet.

     

    In the spaceship, the captain was unhappy. Something was wrong. He sent a message to his own planet and got ready to land.

     

    Only the captain was alive in the spaceship. “I am alone, but I will find the strongest creature and control it. Then I will control the planet.

     

    The captain got out of his spaceship. His spacesuit was uncomfortable. The air was fresh on this planet and he didnt take off his spacesuit. He saw huge green leaves everywhere. He climbed to the top of one of them and looked at the sky. It was dark blue.

     

    The captain saw a huge monster. He jumped onto its leg. He climbed up and went into the monsters head. Now I can control you, he said.

     

    The captain was looking at the boy, too.

    Kill the creature, he said.

     

    The small thing was on the ground. The unlucky captain was dead.
