教材内容分析
“Just talk”
Peter和Kate正在讨论一幅图,并就画中人物的行为进行猜测,Li Yan和她的cousin的到来,解决两人的疑惑。本课会话将引导学生在真实语境中逐步理解并学习本课的语言知识,通过感知、模仿、学习和体验,能运用What are you doing?和Is he looking at the moon? No, he isn’t.等句式进行语言交际运用。
学情分析
本课是Unit 5 I am cleaning the room.的第五课时,同学们已经对现在进行时的用法有了初步了解,本单元要求学生掌握运用第三人称表达现在进行时的肯定句、疑问句及回答,本课是对时态的进一步学习,学习新的短语并应用。本课通过Chant和Song增强学生的英语学习兴趣,这是符合五年级学生的心理发展特点的。
教学目标
1. 通过谈论图片,能够学会使用句型:
Is he looking at the moon? 以及答语No, he isn’t.和I don’t think so. 能够运用句型He is just standing there. He is only singing over there. 进行描述图片。
2. 通过图片的展示和语言环境,使学生能听、说、认读下列短语及词汇:look at the moon, talk about, sun, cousin.
3. 通过小组谈论图片,使学生在谈论的过程中充分运用本课的句型,并从中感受到:看待同一件事情,不同的人有不同的看法。
教学重点
能够使用句型:Is he looking at the moon? 以及答语No, he isn’t / I don’t think so.进行谈论图片。
教学难点
小组合作创设情境并展开讨论。
教学用具
PPT、图片、教学CD光盘资料和多媒体设备。
教学过程
一、Revision(激发兴趣 情景导入)
1. Greetings.
2. Sing a song: What are you doing?
3. Revise the present participle of the verbs.
4. Chant together:
Writing, writing, I’m writing.
Singing, singing, I’m singing.
Washing, washing, I’m washing.
Looking, looking, I’m looking.
二、Presentation(创设情境 呈现新知)
1. Teacher shows the PPT and says ,“Who is the boy?”Students answer. And then teacher asks the boy :“What are you doing?”the boy answers,“I’m eating.”
Teacher shows another pictures and get the students to ask and answer in pairs according to the picture: “What are you doing ? I’m v-ing…”
2. Teacher shows the picture and says, “Look at the boy! What’s he doing?”, students answer it, “He’s looking at the picture.”
Teacher says, “Let’s guess: What’s he looking at? Is he looking at the grass? If you think “Yes”, you can answer: “Yes, he is.” If you think “No”, you can answer: “No, he isn’t.”
Teacher asks some students, “Is he looking at the grass?” Students can have different answer it.
Practise asking and answering it in pairs.
3. Teacher points to the Great Wall and asks ,“What’s this ? Right! It’s the Great Wall. Is he looking at the Great Wall(长城)?”Students can answer it. According to the students’ answers, says, “I don’t think so.(摇头)I think he’s looking at the grass. If you don’t think so, you can answer, “I don’t think so.(摇头)Do you understand?”.
Students practise saying “I don’t think so.” pair by pair.
4. Play a guessing game.
Teacher shows the moon and asks, “What’s this?” Students answer, “It’s the moon.” Put it on the blackboard. And call out one boy come to the front and face to the blackboard and asks, “Is he looking at the moon?” Students can have different answers. At last, Teacher asks the boy, “Are you looking at the moon?” The boy answers. “Yes, I am./ No, I’m not. I’m... / I don’t think so.”
Call out another boy and repeat with the sun.
5. Teacher shows the trees asks, “What are these?” Students answer, “They’re trees.” And put them on the Bb. Call out one girl come to the front and face to the blackboard. Then teacher asks the other students, “Is she looking at the trees?” students answers, “Yes, she is.” or “No, she isn’t.” Teacher asks the girl, “Are you looking at the trees?” The girl answers.
Call out another girl and repeat with a bird.
6. Teacher shows the picture and get the students to look: “Look! What are they doing? Please listen to the tape and answer the question: “What are they doing?” “They’re talking about the picture.”
Teach: talk about, practise reading it pair by pair. Who can make a sentence with “talk about”? Students make some sentences.
7. Now please open your books! Turn to Page 62. Read the dialogue and finish the table in groups: What do they think of the man in the picture?

Teach cousin: Teacher asks “Do you know ‘cousin’?” Students answer. “Right! Let’s look at my family tree.”
8. Do the first one together. Teacher shows the paragraph and asks, “What do you think of the man in the picture?” Students answer it: “Peter thinks he’s looking at the sun.”
9. Students finish off the table in groups.
Then students report it.
At the same time, teacher teaches the words:“just”and“only”and gets the students to make sentences with“just”and“only”.
10.Teacher says,“OK! They have different ideas. I think he’s looking at the bird.”And ask “What do you think of the man in the picture? ”Students answers,“I think...”Teacher says, “So look at the same thing, different people have different ideas.”
三、Practice(强化练习 巩固新知)
Practise reading the dialogue in different ways
1.Students listen to the tape and repeat it.
2.Students read it together.
3. Students read it row by row.
4. Students read it in groups.
5. Students read it by themselves.
At last teacher calls out some groups to read it.
四、Language use(拓展升华 语言运用)
Teacher says,“Look at the picture! Please practise talking about the picture in pairs. You can use the follow words and sentence structures: What’s he/she doing? Is she /he v-ing? I don’t think so. What are they doing? etc.
In pairs, talk about the picture.
Teacher call out some pairs to act.
五、Homework(布置作业,课下延伸)
1. Describe the people’s activities in a party with the present progressive tense.
用现在进行时描述某次聚会上人们的活动。
2. Finish writing after class.
