As I was young, smart phones weren’t created, and our TV only got one channel clearly. Still, I was never bored. The fields, hills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground. I can remember once hiking to a nearby lake. At the backside of it I was amazed to find an old dirt road that I had never seen before. It was full of muddy tracks and deep woods bordered it on both sides, but exploring it still seemed like a fine adventure.
I walked on and on for hours. I was sure my guardian angel was whispering in my ear “turn around and head back home”, but I was stubborn, so I walked on. There was still neither a car nor a house in sight. I noticed that the sun was starting to go down and I grew scared. I didn’t want to end up trapped on this road, and I was worried that it would be dark before I could make my way back to the lake again.
I continued to walk on with something growing inside of me. My heart was pounding and my legs were aching. I was almost in tears when I turned one last turning and saw a house in the distance. I recognized that house. I jumped up and down and laughed out loud. It was still over a mile away but my legs felt like feathers and I hurried back to my house in no time. I walked in with a big smile on my face just in time for dinner.
I remembered this recently when I saw a sign that said: “All roads lead home.” It is true. In this life, all roads, no matter how they twist and turn, can lead us home again. What is important, though, is how we travel them. Are we going to go forth in fear or are we going to go forth in faith? Are we going to make this life a terrible trip or are we going to make this life a joyful journey? The choice is ours.
    4. Why did the author hardly feel bored when he was young?
A Because he had many friends.
    B. Because he used to explore the old dirt road.
    C. Because he could watch TV all day.
    D. Because he could have fun in nature.
    5. How did the author feel when he was exploring the dirt road?
    A. He was unconscious.
    B. He felt nervous.
    C. He thought he would be trapped in the woods.
    D. He thought he would be scolded by his parents.
    6. What does "something" probably refer to in paragraph 3?
    A. Doubt. B. Fear. C. Courage. D. Hope.
    7. What does the author mainly intend to tell us?
    A. Always make choices on our own.
    B. All roads lead home.
    C Every effort is worthwhile.
    D. It’s our attitude that matters in our life.
D 5. B 6. B 7. D
根据第一段的“Still, I was never bored. The fields, hills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground.(不过,我从不觉得无聊。
根据第二段的“I noticed that the sun was starting to go down and I grew scared.(我注意到太阳开始下山,我开始害怕起来。)”和第三段的“My heart was pounding and my legs were aching.(我的心在狂跳,腿在痛。)”

根据最后一段的“What is important, though, is how we travel them. Are we going to go forth in fear or are we going to go forth in faith? Student from Taiwan played a key role in safeguarding his community in Beijing during pandemic outbreak and is working to establish closer ties between young people across the Straits (海峡).
Chen Wencheng from Taiwan, a postdoctoral student at Peking University, had been doing volunteer work in his neighborhood since Spring Festival. This was the first Lunar New Year holiday he didn’t celebrate in his hometown of Zhanghua, Taiwan, during his nine-year stay in Beijing.
Chen, 31, from the university’s department of philosophy and religious studies, chose to stay in Beijing’s Haidian District with his pregnant wife, who gave birth to their daughter last month. After the COVID- 19 outbreak hit Beijing in late January, he soon applied to be a community volunteer to help with pandemic prevention and control.
He started work on the day he signed as a volunteer on Feb 4, with his duties including such tasks as checking passes and the temperature of people entering the community or delivering food and other necessities to his neighbors in self-quarantine.
The buildings in the community have five floors with no elevators. Chen sometimes had dozens of deliveries each day, including big rice bags and barrels of cooking oil, among other daily supplies.
“Those were heavy, and that’s why the community needed us younger people to help, ”Chen says.
“The volunteer job looks like petty work, but it matters as it enhances the safety of the more than 2, 000 residents in our community, ”Chen says. “The work also allowed me to get to know more of my neighbors, which makes the whole community feel like a big family. ”
    8. What made Chen Wencheng play a key role in safeguarding his community?
    A. His rich knowledge.
    B. His wife’s request.
    C. His classmates’ invitation.
    D. His selfless devotion.
    9. What does the underlined word “Those” in Paragraph 6 refer to?
    A. The deliveries. B. The big rice bags.
    C. The barrels of cooking oil. D. The daily supplies.
    10. Which of the following best describes Chen’s work during pandemic outbreak?
    A. The teacher. B. The brave helper.
    C. The volunteer job. D. His selfishness.
    11. What’s the purpose of the passage?
    A. To introduce a true volunteering spirit.
    B. To help with pandemic prevention and control.
    C. To praise students from Taiwan.
    D. To carry forward the national spirit.
D 9. A 10. C 11. D

根据第二段第一句“Chen Wencheng from Taiwan, a postdoctoral student at Peking University, had been doing volunteer work in his neighborhood since Spring Festival.
根据第五段“The buildings in the community have five floors with no elevators. Chen sometimes had dozens of deliveries each day, including big rice bags and barrels of cooking oil, among other daily supplies. 故选A项。
根据最后一段第一句““The volunteer job looks like petty work, but it matters as it enhances the safety of the more than 2, 000 residents in our community, ”Chen says.
根据第一段“Student from Taiwan played a key role in safeguarding his community in Beijing during pandemic outbreak and is working to establish closer ties between young people across the Straits (海峡).

When we see a person in trouble, the first idea that comes to our mind is to lend a hand. But what if we see an animal in trouble, does the same rule apply?
This question was raised after a group of penguins (企鹅) were saved from an icy gully (峡谷) in Antarctica. It was filmed for the BBC wildlife series Dynasties. The film crew were anxious when they saw that a group of penguins had fallen into a gully and been trapped with their young. They built a slope (斜坡) so that a few of the penguins could save themselves.
The case has taken the international media by storm. Viewers watching this film sighed in relief. “I’m so glad. I understand not taking action directly, but a helping hand isn’t bothering, right?” viewer Kathryn Shaw said on her Facebook.
However, others think human interference (干涉) is unnatural. “You can’t have sunshine throughout your life. To have done anything else would only make matters worse.” said the show’s creator David Attenborough, according to TheTimes.
In this case, however, Mike Gunton, the executive producer of the series, said that this was a one-off situation. “There were no animals going to suffer by interfering. You weren’t touching the animals and it was just felt by doing this …They had the chance not to have to keep slipping down the slope.” he told the BBC.
Such cases are familiar to Paul Nicklen, wildlife photographer for National Geographic. He told Metro, “If it’s ever a predator (捕食者) situation, no matter how gut-wrenching, you stay out of the way. Even when you’re watching a male polar bear eat a baby bear.”
“There’s no rule book in those situations. You can only respond to the facts that are right there in front of you.” Will Lawson, the show’s director, told Daily Mail.
    12. What has led to a heated media discussion?
    A. The rescue of penguins from a gully.
    B. People’s various opinions on penguins.
    C. Some penguins’ sufferings in a gully.
    D. Ways of filming the series Dynasties.
    13. Who holds a positive attitude towards human interference?
    A. David Attenborough. B. Will Lawson.
    C. Paul Nicklen. D. Kathryn Shaw.
    14. Which of the following best explains the word “gutwrenching” underlined in Paragraph 6?
    A. Making one confused. B. Making one heartbroken.
    C. Putting one in danger. D. Making one amazed.
    15. What can be the best title for the text?
    A. Necessity of Lending a Hand to Animals
    B. Protect Animals From Dying Out
    C. Human Interference on Dangerous Animals
    D. Help Animals in Trouble or Not
A 13. D 14. B 15. D
根据第二段的“The film crew were anxious when they saw that a group of penguins had fallen into a gully and been trapped with their young. They built a slope (斜坡) so that a few of the penguins could save themselves.(当摄制组看到一群企鹅和它们的幼崽掉进沟里被困在一起时,他们非常焦虑。 和第三段的“The case has taken the international media by storm.(这起案件引起了国际媒体的广泛关注。)” 故选A。
根据第三段的““I’m so glad. I understand not taking action directly, but a helping hand isn’t bothering, right?” viewer Kathryn Shaw said on her Facebook.(“我很高兴。
根据上文语境大家对干涉动物的行为有不同观点,结合下文的“you stay out of the way. Even when you’re watching a male polar bear eat a baby bear(你给我闪开。
阅读文章,并结合第一段“When we see a person in trouble, the first idea that comes to our mind is to lend a hand. But what if we see an animal in trouble, does the same rule apply?(当我们看到一个人有麻烦时,我们想到的第一个想法是伸出援手。 和第二段“This question was raised after a group of penguins (企鹅) were saved from an icy gully (峡谷) in Antarctica.(这个问题是在一群企鹅从南极洲的冰沟中获救后提出的。)” 因此,本文的最佳标题应为D选项“Help Animals in Trouble or Not(是否帮助有困难的动物)”。
Fitness Magazine recently ran an article titled “Five Reasons to Thank Your Workout Partner.” One reason was: “You’ll actually show up if you know someone is waiting for you at the gym, ” while another read: “___16___” With a workout partner, you will increase your training effort as there is a subtle (微妙) competition.
So, how do you find a workout partner?
First of all, decide what you want from that person. ___17___ Or do you just want to be physically fit, able to move with strength and flexibility? Think about the exercises you would like to do with your workout partner.
You might think about posting what you are looking for on social media, but it probably won’t result in a useful response. ___18___ If you plan on working out in a gym, that person must belong to the same gym.
My partner posted her request on the notice board of a local park. Her notice included what kind of training she wanted to do, how many days a week and how many hours she wanted to spend on each session, and her age. It also listed her favorite sports and activities, and provided her phone number. ___19___
You and your partner will probably have different skills. ___20___ Over time, both of you will benefit—your partner will be able to lift more weights and you will become more physically fit. The core (核心) of your relationship is that you will always be there to help each other.
    A. Your first meeting may be a little awkward.
    B. A workout partner usually needs to live close by.
    C. You’ll work harder if you train with someone else.
    D. Do you want to be a better athlete in your favorite sport?
    E. How can you write a good “seeking training partner” notice?
    F. Just accept your differences and learn to work with each other.
    G. Any notice for a training partner should include such information.
C 17. D 18. B 19. G 20. F
根据前文“Fitness Magazine recently ran an article titled “Five Reasons to Thank Your Workout Partner.” One reason was: “You’ll actually show up if you know someone is waiting for you at the gym,”(《健身杂志》最近刊登了一篇题为《感谢健身伙伴的五个理由》的文章。 以及后文“With a workout partner, you will increase your training effort as there is a subtle (微妙) competition. C“You’ll work harder if you train with someone else.(如果你和别人一起训练,你会更努力)”符合语意。故选C项。
根据前文“First of all, decide what you want from that person. (首先,决定你想从那个人身上得到什么)”和后文“Or do you just want to be physically fit, able to move with strength and flexibility?(或者你只是想要身体健康,能够移动的力量和灵活性?)” D“Do you want to be a better athlete in your favorite sport?
根据前文“You might think about posting what you are looking for on social media, but it probably won't result in a useful response. (你可能会考虑在社交媒体上发布你想要的东西,但可能不会得到有用的回应)”和后文“If you plan on working out in a gym, that person must belong to the same gym.(如果你打算在健身房锻炼,那个人一定是同一个健身房的)”可知,寻找的锻炼伙伴要具有便利性的特点。选项B中的“live close by”与后文的“belong to the same gym”相对应,选项B“A workout partner usually needs to live close by.
根据前文“My partner posted her request on the notice board of a local park. Her notice included what kind of training she wanted to do, how many days a week and how many hours she wanted to spend on each session, and her age. It also listed her favorite sports and activities, and provided her phone number. G“Any notice for a training partner should include such information.
根据前文“You and your partner will probably have different skills. (你和你的伴侣可能有不同的技能)”和后文“Over time, both of you will benefit—your partner will be able to lift more weights and you will become more physically fit. The core (核心) of your relationship is that you will always be there to help each other. 选项F中的“differences”对应前文的“different skills”,选项中的“work with each other”对应后文的“be there to help each other”,故选项F“Just accept your differences and learn to work with each other.

    49. less 50. keeping
故填various/varied。
故填it。
故填Although/While/Though。
故填that。
故填a。
故填without。
    51. 假如英语课上老师要求同学们交换修改作文,请你修改你同桌写的以下作文。文中共有10处语言错误,每句中最多有两处错误。每处错误仅涉及一个单词的增加、删除或修改。
    增加:在缺词处加一个漏字符号 (A),并在其下面写出该加的词。
    删除:把多余词用斜线 ( \) 划掉。
    修改:在错的词下划-横线,并在该词下面写出修改后的词。
    注意:1. 每处错误及修改均仅限一词;
    2. 只允许修改10处,多者 (从第11处起) 不计分。
There was a time when I was addicted to playing phone game all day and all night caused me to fall asleep in class frequently. One day I was sleeping while my headteacher called my name and it was the fourth time that I have slept in English class. Therefore he severe criticized me. It was not until then I realized I had made such stupid a mistake. While falling far behind, I decided to study hard and caught up with my classmates. With your teacher’s help, I would surely make a great progress in the coming examination.
1. game→games 2. caused→causing 3. while→when 4. have→had 5.severe→severely 6. 在then后加that 7. such→so 8. caught→catch 9. your→my 10. 删除a
分析句意可知,此处I was sleeping“我正在睡觉”和my headteacher called my name“我的班主任点我名”为同时发生的动作,过构成sb was/were doing sth. when…“某人正在做某事,这时…”,且前后不存在对比关系,故不需要使用连词while表示“然而”。故将while改为when。
分析句意可知,此处使用了固定句式it was not until…that… 故在then后加that。
故将such改为so。
故将your改为my。
