说课稿unit 7 What's the highest mountain in the world

    展开

Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world? The lesson Im going to talk about is Unit 7 what the highest mountain in the world? Ill interpret my lesson plan from the following aspects:First, Id like to analyze the teaching material and learners. This lesson is chosen from the section A of unit 7, Book 8B, PEP Junior English. The topic of this unit is facts about the world. The main task for ss is to talk about geography and nature. Even though ss have learned the comparative and the superlative degree, they may still feel hard to talk about geography and nature, because there are some large numbers and units of measure. Thus, enough practice will be organized to help ss learn large numbers, new words and sentence structures. Base on the analysis above, I set the following teaching aims:1.Knowledge aim. After the class, ss will know some basic knowledge about places like Qomolangma, the Nile, the Sahara and the Caspian Sea. They will be able to read large numbers and use different sentence structures to express comparatives and superlatives, such as what s the highest mountain in the world? Qomolangma is higher than any other mountain in the world. 2.Ability aim. By the end of this lesson, ss will be better able to talk about geography and nature by using the target language above.3.Emotional aim. During the class, ss interest in learning English will be increased by talking about our great nature.Next, lets focus on the key point and difficult point. The key point is to use large numbers and superlatives to describe geography and nature. The difficult point is to use different sentence structures to express the comparative and the superlative degreeTo achieve the objectives above, Ill adopt Audio-lingual Approach, Communicative Approach as well as Situational Teaching Method. And ss will learn through cooperation and communication. Now, Id like to describe my teaching procedure. Step 1 is leading in.At the beginning of the class, Ill talk to ss about where they want to go on summer vacation. Then a guidebook of a travel agency will be presented. There is introduction of Qomolangma, the Sahara, the Nile and the Caspian sea. Ss will read the guidebook and discuss where will be their destinations and why. This  activity will arouse ss interest and lead them to the topic naturally.Step 2 is presentation. First, based on the former activity, Ill instruct ss to read the large numbers in the guidebook and learn 3 units of measure. 板书 9,600,000 square kilometers, 1025 meters, 6,671 kilometers. After that, Ill organize a memory challenge. Some questions will be asked like whats the highest/longest---in the world? Which is the deepest/biggest -- in the world? How high/long is ---? Then, ssll match the large numbers with the corresponding places in 1a. In this step, ss have got a preliminary idea of the 4 places, learned large numbers and these structures 板书. This activity can help ss smooth the way for listening. So, next step is listening. First, Ill lead ss to read the given material in 1b to make sure ss know what they are supposed to do. While ss listen for the 1st time, there are some sentences for ss to complete. They may feel hard to complete all sentences at a time. So, Ill encourage ss to guess the answers according to the given information and the answers they have got from the listening. This can develop ss ability of making full use of information. And here, ss will learn some different sentence structures to express the comparative and the superlative degree.板书be higher than any other, be the biggest--in the world, be the deepest of all---. During the 2nd time, ss will read after the recording and check their answers. Now, we have finished the first listening, so next step is a role play. One st act as a teacher and the other st act as a st. They will talk about the 4 places by using the information they have just learned. Now, ssve listened and talked about some facts about the world. Then, Ill lead them to the next listening to learn some facts about China.First, ssll read the large numbers and the given sentences in 2a and guess the meaning of population and Asia. Then, they will listen for the first time and number the facts they hear. As for the 2nd time, ss will fill in the blanks with large numbers. When they finish, some ss will share their answers.Next step is a role play. One st will act as a Chinese student and the other st will act as an American. They will talk about China by using the information they have just learned from the listening.Up to now, ssve listened and practiced about the geography and nature in the world and in China. So, let move on to the summary.Ill invite ss to summarize what they have learned from this lesson and then will make a summary together. As for the homework, ss will make up a new conversation on the topic of facts about China. At last, Id like to describe my blackboard design.Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world? Whats the highest/longest---in the world?  How high/long is---? 8,844.43 metersBe higher than any other ---in the worldWhich is the deepest/biggest---in the world?9,600,000 square kilometersBe the biggest ---in the world 6.671 kilometersBe the longest of all---
