教材分析
本单元主要围绕“加入俱乐部”这一话题,以谈论自己或他人的能力为功能,引导学生学习含有情态动词can的肯定句、否定句、一般疑问句和特殊疑问句。通过学习使学生能够描述自己在某一方面所具备的才能,能够谈论自己的喜好与意愿,能够为自己成立的各种俱乐部制作海报,能写招募广告。本单元的重难点:表示个人能力的单词和短语;情态动词can的功能与句式结构。
本节课是一节听说课。首先通过图文将学生带入“俱乐部招募以及学生加入”的情境中,并在语境中输入“谈论能力、介绍及选择俱乐部”的重点词汇和核心句型如:Can you play the guitar /sing /dance /swim /draw ---- ? Yes, I can. /No, I can’t. What club do you want to join ? I want to join the chess club.并在此基础上以听力训练的形式拓展巩固本单元重点句型,包括询问和回答第三方的才能和加入俱乐部的意愿;复习巩固以前所学的表达喜好和意愿的知识,并加以创新。本课作为本单元的第一课时,在整个单元中起着话题导入的作用。使用情态动词can表达“能力”,符合初一学生乐于表现自我、主动了解他人的个性;容易激发学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流的积极性。
学情分析
在以前的学习中,学生已经学习了一些行为动词的表达法,而教学“谈论能力”只是将情态动词can用于这些表达中;情态动词 can在肯定句、否定句、和疑问句中的结构,和学生已经学过的be动词的结构有相同的地方,教师在教学中只要善于引导学生比较这两种结构的异同便可加强记忆。本单元的主题是运用情态动词can谈论能力,通过对目标语言的学习使学生能够表达自己在某一方面所具备的才能;通过谈论彼此的特长与爱好,培养一种群体意识。这一教学内容非常贴近学生的生活实际,极易激发学生学习英语的欲望和兴趣,使他们乐于参与各种英语实践活动。

2. 情感态度价值观目标:
该部分内容贴近学生的生活,谈论的话题是能力。通过互相询问或谈论自己或对方在某一方面的能力,可以培养学生的一种群体意识。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1) 学习询问和谈论彼此的能力和特长;
2) 掌握一些弹奏乐器的表达方式。
2. 教学难点:
情态动词can的构成和使用。
【课前准备】: 课本、录音机、一些乐器食物或能反映各种乐器的图片、幻灯片。
【教学方法】:任务型教学法、情景交际法、游戏教学法、试听法、归纳法、直观演示法。

Ⅰ. Lead in
1. 教师可携带一些易于演奏的乐器,也可带一些演奏乐器的图片,一边演示乐器,一边说: I can play the guitar.…等;再指着图片说:He/She can play the violin.But I can’t play it.等;然后询问学生:Can you play the guitar?….并引导学生进行简单的回答。
2. S s look at the picture in 1a. Then read the words and phrases. Let S s match the activities with the people.
Then Check the answers with the class together.
Ⅱ. Presentation
出示一些反映各种活动的图片、幻灯片或播放课件,引导学生谈论活动:
He/She can dance/swim/sing/"··But I can’t dance/swim/sing/...等,学习表达活动的动词短语。
Ⅲ. Game (What can I do?)
T: Tell your partners what you can do. For example:
I can play the guitar. I can sing and dance.
S s work in groups. The let some S s talk to their classmates in front of the class.
Ⅳ. Listening
1. T: Now let’s listen to the tape, find out the right conversation, and number them 1-3.
(播放lb部分的录音让学生听,引导学生根据所听到的内容,选出对话的顺序,完成1b部分的教学任务。)

1. Ask the S s to practice the conversations in 1b with a partner. Then make their own conversations.
(引导学生展开Pair work活动,完成l c部分口语交际的教学任务,学会运用can询问和表达能力。)
Ⅵ. Listening
1. Work on 2a;
T: Now, look at the pictures on P2, listen to the four conversations. Just listen.
(Play the recording for the first time, students only listen carefully.)
Then, listen to the recording again, and circle the clubs you hear.
Check the answers with the class.
2. Work on 2b;
引导学生根据对话内容用正确的单词填空,补全对话,再播放听力材料一遍。让学生进行校对,练习听力和写作能力,完成2b部分的教学任务。

Ⅶ. Pair work
1. Look at 2b and talk about what the people can do and the clubs they want to join.
老师可以和一名优秀的学生做一个对话的例子,让学生们明白如何去问答,例如:
T: What club does Lisa want to join?
S1: She wants to join the chess club.
T: Can she play chess?
S1: No, she can't.
2. S s work in pairs to practice asking and answering about Lisa, Bob and Mary.
3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
Ⅷ. Role-play
1. Ask S s to look at the picture in 2d. Then S s read the dialogue by themselves and try to find out the answers to these questions.
① What club does Bob join?
② What club does Jane join?
S s read the conversation by themselves and find the answers to the questions. Then check the answers:
① Bob joins the soccer club. ② Jane joins the English and art club.
2. Explain something that S s can't understand.
3. Let S s read after the teacher or play the recording and let S s read after the recording.
4. S s work in pairs to act out the conversation.
5. Ask some pairs come to the front of the classroom. They try to act out the conversation. See which group is the best.

Task : Talk about what clubs you want to join.
T : The clubs in our school want some new members. What club do you want to join ? Choose your favorite club.
- Show the clubs by playing the flash.Have students choose their favorite clubs and write down what they can do.

本节课我们学习了“询问能力”的核心句型:Can you --- ? 或What can you do ? 和询问加入俱乐部的意愿的句型What club do you want to join ? 除此之外,还学习了一些表示能力的词,如:play the guitar, sing, swim, dance, play chess, draw, speak, speak English.等
Homework:
1. Remember the new words and expressions after class.

教学反思:
反思自己的教学过程,有值得肯定之处,比如课件制作精良,课型定性准确;任务的设置由浅如深;整个任务链的设计均以学生的兴趣为主,符合学生思维规律。本课合理利用图片\多媒体课件来展开课堂教学。利用Pair work回答式的交际活动或小组活动,开展“询问和谈论能力”的课堂教学和练习。学生通过谈论自己某一方面所具备的才能,初步掌握了情态动词 can 的基本用法;通过互相询问或谈论自己或对方加入俱乐部意愿,培养了学生的一种群体意识。课堂任务侧重培养了学生的语言实践能力,避免了死记硬背。但本课也存在不足;
- 学生很被动,教师让他们做什么他们就做什么,这样的学习是不利于学生的成长的和长久发展的。更不符合新课标的要求。
- 师生互动少了一些。
- 在活动的选取方面,主要是结合目标语言的机械操练,开放性不够。
这些问题要求在今后的教学过程中,逐步改进。让学生主动参与,师生、生生互动要尽可能地多,创设有意义的真实的语言环境,让学生身临其境,有话可说,在自然活动中习得英语语言知识。
