知识与能力:
1、掌握单词和短语: serious, mirror,kid, necessary, grade, should, saying, reach, hand,touch, heart, fact, break,arm, share, loud, similar, as long as, be different from, brin gout, the same as, in fact, be similar to.
2、掌握句型:“I'm quieter and more serious than most kids. “It's not necessary to be the same.” “ True friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.”.
3、能用所学单词、短语和句型正确地谈论、描述自己的朋友及择友标准。过程与方法:本节课首先由观看动画片The Tortoise and the Hare引入比较级的话题,然后利用chant进一步复习比较级的用法,同时也创设了语言学习环境,激发了同学们的学习热情。在阅读过程中,先让学生带着问题去读,这样会使目标更明确,有利于提高学生快速找出所需信息的能力。然后,讨论并核对答案,培养学生归纳总结的能力。按课文顺序播放录音,让学生听并有意识地跟读,在培养学生听说能力的同时提高他们读写的能力。设计练习题,旨在巩固课文知识点与重要句子结构,为进一步阅读和写作打下坚实的基础。情感态度与价值观:教育学生树立正确的择友观,能理解朋友,尊重朋友,对朋友宽容。

(1)掌握本课时的重点单词、短语和句型。
(2)指导学生读懂关于交友的文章,理解文章中的不同观点,完成文章所要求的各项任务。

能用英语正确谈论、描述自己的朋友
教学过程:
复习By chanting “Good, Better, Best” , to review the Comparative Forms of theAdjectives and Adverbs.
新课导入By watching the cartoon “The Tortoise and The Hare”,引入比较级的用法。及择友标准。

Revision By chanting “Good, Better, Best”, to review the Comparative Forms of the Adjectives and Adverbs.
Step3
Read and write. Work on 2a. Ask students to write the comparative forms of the adjectives on their books. And then ask some students to read the comparative forms of the adjectives they wrote.
Answers: more popular, more hard-working, more outgoing. funnier, more serious, smarter, quieter, friendlier. shyer.
3.Use these comparative forms to write five sentences about themselves and their friends.4. Students work in groups. Check each other's answers.5. Let some students read their sentences.

1. Read 2b and underline the comparative words and phrases.
2. Check the answers. Answers: Underlined: quieter, more serious, harder, taller, more outgoing, (plays tennis) better, (getting) better, less hard-working, (get) better (grades),(help him) more, funnier, (feel) better.
3. Listen and repeat. Play the tape. Students listen and repeat. Pay attention to the new words and phrases.
4. Read the text carefully and teach the phrases.

Write five sentences. They can use the sentence structures to help them: A + be friend from B because ...andA + be similar to B because..
