[名师点津] (1)a good/great many 后面一般不用of,但后接代词或所修饰的名词前有定冠词、指示代词或物主代词等时,要加上of。
(2)a(great/large)number of意为“许多,大量”,修饰可数名词复数,作主语时谓语动词用复数形式。the number of意为“……的数目”,后接可数名词复数,作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。

在makes it very difficult to focus on other things中,包含“make(动词)+形式宾语(it)+宾语补足语+真正的宾语”句式结构。
(1)在句型“make+宾语+宾补”中,宾语补足语主要由名词、形容词、介词短语、不带to的不定式和过去分词等充当。make变为被动语态时,不定式作宾语补足语要带to。
(2)当宾语比较长时,常常用“make+it+宾补+宾语”这一结构,其中it为形式宾语,真正的宾语为不定式短语或that引导的宾语从句。

她明确表示反对该计划。

[要点提炼]
本句是用It is...that对for this reason进行强调的用法。“It is/was+强调部分+that+其他”是强调句型去掉It is/was...that之后,句子依然完整。
(1)强调句的基本句型:It is/was+被强调部分+that/who+句子其他部分。
(2)强调句的一般疑问句:Is/Was it+被强调部分+that/who+句子其他部分。
(3)强调句的特殊疑问句:疑问词(被强调部分)+is/was+it+that+句子其他部分。
(4)not...until...结构的强调句型:It is/was not until...that...。
