学情分析：

Although students are familiar with the topic of talking about the school,some of the new words are a little difficult for students to pronounce and spell, such as building,library,science and between.The students have learned “there be ...”sentence pattern, so it's not difficult for students to read the passage.

1.90% students will be able to master the words about the topic,such as library, building, science, playground,behind, between...and, in front of, on the right/left, next to...

2.90% students will be able to read and understand the passage.

2.80% students will be able to introduce the school.

教学过程：

Step 1 Lead-in

Students introduce their ideal classrooms which was the homework.

Step 2 Before-reading

1. Presentation

The teacher shows the pictures and learn about the new words about school buildings.

2. Practice

Label the pictures with the words and expressions. Then read it twice together.

3. Presentation

The teacher presents the verbal phrases:next to, between... and..., in front of, behind ...

4. Practise

Read Betty’s words, and write her classmates’ names on their desks in

the picture in Activity 2.

    Then,students play a guessing game.Students describe where their classmates in the classroom and others guess who he/she is.

5. Prediction

Students look at the picture of Activity 3 and predict what the passage is about.

Step 3 Reading

1.     Fast reading:

Answer the question “How many buildings are there in their school?”and label the map of the school.

2.Careful reading: read it carefully and answer these questions.

    What’s on the right of the library?/What’s in the library?/How many classrooms are there in the classroom building?/Where are the computer rooms and science labs?

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Ask and answer in pairs about the picture of the school.

Q: How many buildings are there in the school? Where is the …?

2.Role-play: According to the passage. One is the visitor from USA, one is the student in this school. Your teacher asks you to introduce our school to him and show him around. Each pair need to write a complete passage about this tour.

2. Exercise: Look at the sentences and fill in the blanks(Activity5)

作业布置：

Must: 1. Finish the exercise of M3U2 in Keshitexun.

2. Read the passage five times.

Optional: Recite the passage in M3U2.
