Dear Mrs Wang,
Best wishes to you on Teachers’ Day. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for your great help with my English and school life.
I love your classes and I have learned much from you. You have a way of making dry subjects really interesting. Moreover, you are always generous and patient with suggestions on how to overcome my struggles and difficulties. Your classes have helped me not only to become more interested in the language but also to gain more confidence in everything.
All in all, thank you again for being there. I don’t know what I would do without your guidance and help.
Yours,
Li Hua

第一节
Text 1
W: Well, since you're just not a complainer, why don't you send an email requesting a meeting with your boss in private?
M: Hmm, I’d be a bit worried about his reaction. But anyway, I'll send him an email to request a meeting, and I'll see what happens from there. Thanks for your advice.
Text 2
W: Excuse me. Could you tell me where the tourist information center is?
M: I'm new here. You had better ask the policeman over there.
W: Thank you all the same.
Text 3
W: How many classes do you have today?
M: I've got an English class first, and then I have to go to my math class, which will take me an hour. After lunch, I’ll begin my geography class and history class.
Text 4
M: Would you recommend a hotel near the beach?
W: Well, there is a Moonlight Hotel with excellent service near the beach.
Text 5
W: Are you too proud, Mr. Darcy? And would you consider pride a fault or a virtue?
M: I couldn't say—We're trying to find a fault in you. I find it hard to forgive the foolishness and bad temper of others or their offences against me. My good opinion, once lost, is lost forever.
W: Oh dear, I can't make fun of you about that. What a shame. I dearly love to laugh.
第二节
Text 6
M: I'm hungry, Mom. Is lunch ready?
W: Yes. Wash your hands.
M: What do we have for lunch?
W: Beef, eggs and tomatoes.
M: Are there any noodles? You know they are my favorite.
W: Yes. There is rice, too.
Text 7
W: Hi, Tom, long time no see. What's going on?
M: I was out of the frying pan and into the fire.

M: From New Year's Eve to January fifth. A day a person.
W: Manager, you won't have me on duty on New Year's Eve, will you?
M: I know nobody wants to be on duty on New Year's Eve. To be fair, I suggest drawing lots to decide your day.
W: God bless me. Don't be on New Year's Eve.
Text 9
M: Emily, could you spare a few extra minutes to discuss your project with me?
W: Sure. We're working to a pretty tight schedule, but we should be able to finish it just on time.
M: Are all of your team members on schedule?

Text 10
I would like to talk about Siping Park. The park is located in Yangpu District, and it is about ten minutes’ walk from my apartment. So I often go there to relax myself. Now that the park is built, the residents have a really good place to take a good break from their busy city life. Some seniors go to the park very early in the morning to practise Tai Chi. In the evening, many elders would play music there and dance to the tune. During weekends, many children are accompanied by their parents to take a walk there. I myself sometimes bring my musical instrument to practise there. The park has brought a lot of benefits to us who live nearby. It is a nice place for us to enjoy the natural beauty of trees and flowers and to breathe fresh air, which is precious in the city.
