思路点拨:
此篇作文题目以人物介绍为主线,以谈论外貌特征为主要内容,在写作过程中始终渗透着本单元的话题——描述人的外貌特征(Describe people’s looks)。
根据上面分析我们要在头脑中明确以下几点:
(1)由此作文要谈及的主要内容决定我们在写作过程中要运用的主要时态为:一般现在时。
(2)由此作文所涉及的话题决定我们在写作过程中会在许多地方用到谈论人物外貌特征的句式和形容词。
(3)单元经典短语、句型储备:

I have a new pen pal. His name is Eric. He’s from Australia. He’s 14 years old. He’s of medium height and he is a little bit heavy. He has short curly black hair. He likes reading and playing sports. He wants to be a reporter. He thinks it’s an interesting job and he can meet lots of interesting people.

handsome适合形容较有英气的美,一般指男人的英俊。另外,handsome还可用于形容书法或事情办得漂亮。
beautiful更倾向于形容____方面的东西,比pretty更美,通常指成熟女性的美。
pretty更口语化,如果用来形容小女孩,意思就是______。pretty也可以作为副词使用。如:Pretty good! 非常好。
