一、教学内容
1主题课文:现代奥运会(modern Olympics)
2功能句型:When did people hold the first modern Olympic Games?
They held them in 1896 in Athens,Greece.
3词 汇: ago, man, take part in, host, 以及Greece, the IOC ,和stop,have, hold, decide ,can的过去式。
二、教学目标:
(一)知识与技能目标
1理解课文,了解现代奥林匹克运动会的起源,并能正确朗读课文。
2 能听懂、会说句型When did people hold the first modern Olympic Games? 及答语They held them in 1896 in Athens, Greece。
3 能听、说、读、写 ago, man, take part in, host。
4 认读Greece, the IOC ,以及stop,have, hold, decide ,can的过去式。
(二)过程与方法
1运用情景教学法,课前出示顾拜旦的照片,让同学猜想他是谁来激发学习兴趣,导入新课。
2运用情景教学法,课后让同学表演妇女不能参加古代奥运会的痛苦到可以参加现代奥运会的喜悦的短剧,来帮助、检测理解课文。
3 运用划分句子意群的方法来突破句子较长的难点。

了解奥运会,男女平等思想

了解现代奥林匹克运动会的起源,能听懂、会说When did people hold the first modern Olympic Games? 及其答语They held them in 1896 in Athens, Greece.
能认读hold/can/read/go/send/的过去式,能使用in+年/月表示过去的事情发生的时间,并能在交流中运用.

(一)Lead-in
活动一:猜猜他是谁
活动目标:对现代奥运有个总的概念,激发学习兴趣。
实施方法及师生语言:
1. 出示顾拜旦的照片,简单描述他的长相。说明他是法国人,猜他是谁.
2. 说明他的年龄,继续猜。
3. 说明他的主要成就,猜后说出答案。

活动二: 听答

实施方法及师生语言:
1、 听第一遍,回答第一届现代奥运会举办的时间。
2、 听第二遍,回答第一届现代奥运会举办的地点。
设计意图:回答简单问题,提高听力。
T:listen once and answer: When did the people hold first modern Olympic Games ?
S: In 1896.
T:listen again and answer: Where did the people hold first modern Olympic Games ?
S: In Athens, Greece.
活动三: 阅读回答
活动目标:通过阅读,了解现代奥运会的发展过程和特点。
实施方法及师生语言:
1、 读第一遍,回答古代奥运会停办的时间长度。
2、 读第二遍,回答现代奥运会区别古代奥运的特点。
3、 推理:古代奥运会什么时候停止的?
设计意图:通过回答问题,理解课文,提高阅读能力。
T:Read the dialog first and answer: How long was the ancient Olympics closed ?
S: For about 1500 years.
T:Read again and answer:What are the differences between the ancient and the modern Games?
S: The first one, Both men and women could take part in the modern Games. The second one, the modern Games is held in different cities every four years.
T:Now,can you infer when was did the ancient Olympics stop ?
S: in 396
T:1896 minus 1500 is 396.

活动四:表演短剧(古代奥运与现代奥运)
活动目标:运用课文语句,表现两种奥运之区别。
实施方法及师生语言:
1、 六人一组,根据课文内容表演一个五六分钟的短剧,要求把课文中的内容表现的越多越好。
2、 评判哪组表现的内容最多
T: In groups of six, make a short play to show the differences between the ancient and the modern Games .

设计意图:表演短剧可以达到语用的目的,同时加深对课文的理解

1 能流利朗读课文,表演对话。

3 能听说读写ago, man, take part in, host,认读短语read that book, went to the Great Wall,sent the letters
4能借助录音读懂story time里的故事,并回答问题。

1通过提问现代奥运会的起源来呈现功能句。
2以老师的生活经历为线索,呈现图片,使机械操练兴趣化。
3 两人一组,以年为单位,交流各自的生活经历中的第一次达到语用的目的。

1 请每组同学派出五名同学参赛, 每人读一个方框,读后老师评分
2 核定总分, 分高的那一组为优胜者
T: Yesterday we leaned about the modern Olympics. Now, I’d like you to read the text aloud for me. let’s have a competition ,ok?
S: OK.
T: In groups, Choose five students to read one box each. I will give the marks when each of you finish reading. The group which sums the highest is the winner.
设计意图:通过朗读,复习课文,提高语音。
