If the sentence des nt define the wrd, first , try t determine the wrd’s part f speech. Then lk at the way ther wrds are used in the sentence, as this might give a clue t the meaning f the new wrd.

Language pints:
1. The fruit was n lnger fresh.
n lnger意为 “不再”,相当于nt---any lnger,多与表示状态或延续性的动词连用。
He n lnger smkes.=He desn’t smke any lnger. 他不再吸烟了。
n mre意为 “不再”,表示动作不再重复出现,相当于nt---any mre,可以和表示短暂动作的动词连用。
Time lst will n mre return.=Time lst wn’t return any mre.失去的时间不会再回来。
