We first heard abut the lake frm my wrkmate, Blut, wh referred t it as his childhd paradise, where he used t fish, swim and cast pebbles (鹅卵石) with his friends. He described the lake area as ne f the few places f wildness that had nt been ruined by mdern turism. He had left the place fr years since his parents sld their farm near the lake and mved t the city, but he still kept dreaming f ging back. In his wn wrds, he was “nature starved”. Attracted by Blut's descriptin, the five f us wrking in the same ffice gt n ur way t it in Octber, 2019, taking advantage f a federal hliday.
It was a place nt nly lesser­knwn but als ut f the way. We tk a flight first and then rented tw cars at the airprt. We had t travel alng backrads in rental cars t finally get there but the scenery was abslutely stunning. N wnder it was lved s dearly by Blut. All the beautiful trees and the grass were cvered with red and range leaves and the quiet lake is like a mirrr reflecting the glden rays f the sun. A shrt distance away, we culd see a few ther turists taking pictures by the lake and sme white birds flying up frm the water and the patches f reed marshes (芦苇荡). Amazed by the scene, ur hearts lnged fr a clser encunter with the lake.

We walked arund the lake t cllect litter and put up n littering signs. What we didn't expect was that the ther turists jined us in ur actin. We als arranged regular inspectins and agreed t take further actins when necessary. S far we have been able t live up t the title we give urselves: Guards f Lake Purilence.
