    Allen's First Marathn (马拉松)
    One f Allen's ankles was injured ne mnth befre his first time t cmpete in a marathn. This meant he culd nt run r train fr tw weeks. Yet, Allen made up his mind t g ahead.
    Allen remembers back t his first year in the schl. He was nly seven at that time. In his first P. E. class, his teacher required them t run laps and then hit a ball. He didn't d either well. He was later tld that he was "nt athletic"—he had n talent in sprts.
    The idea that he was nt athletic went with him fr years. When he started running in his thirties, he realized running marathn was nt abut cmpetitin r whether he was physically strng and active. He thught that __________________________.
    The night befre his first marathn, he dreamed that he culdn't even find the finish line. He wke up sweating (冒汗) and nervus, but ready t prve smething t himself.
    Shrtly after crssing the star line, his she laces (鞋带) became untied. S Allen stpped t tie them. Nt the start he wanted!
    At mile 3, Allen passed a sign: "GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!"
    By mile 17, he became ut f breath and the nce injured ankle hurt badly. When he felt the pain, he tried t slw dwn and walked a bit and then ran again.
    As Allen apprached mile 25—near the finish line, he saw his wife waving a sign t encurage him. She is Allen's biggest fan. She never minded the alarm clck sunding at 5 a.m. r questined his mney n running.
    Allen was ne f the final runners t finish. But he finished! And he als gt a medal. In fact, he gt the same medal as the ne that the man wh gt in first place.
    Allen made up his mind t be himself and mved frward. He can nw call himself a real winner.

    I wke up this mrning. It's nearly Easter. Whenever it is Easter, I think f yu. I'll never frget seeing yu fr the first time when yu were brn. Yu were the sweetest little baby wrapped in a sft white blanket. Hw I lved kissing and hlding yu! I was a teenager and lved carrying yu arund. Smetimes peple asked if yu were my baby. I must have lked like a very yung mther, but hw prud was in thse mments.
    Hwever, things started t change fr me as I never felt quite wanted. Hw sad when it was that felt s jealus(嫉妒的)f yu.
    Befre yur arrival. Mum was in n hurry t buy the things that I needed. But later I always had t wait and wait fr her t pay my schl fees r buy bks and clthes. Everything was always late! Hw much mre upsetting that my birthday and Christmas presents were nly ever things that I urgently needed, such as nightdress and bks?
    Yur situatin was different and Mum always made sure that yu had the best f everything quickly. When yu gt a hrse fr yur 6 birthday and started riding lessns, hw jealus I was!
    I slwly turned cld twards yu and never gave yu the warm hugs that yu expected frm me r shwed an interest in yur hrse r yur medals, I remember yur sad face. Prbably wndering why I didn't seem t care abut yu.
    Tday I cnsidered that as I wke up. I have never spken abut this, r why that is s. Tday I must say that I am very srry fr hurting yur feelings it was never yur fault(错). Yu were t yung t even realize it. All these years, yu might have wndered what yu did wrng that didn't ften speak with yu.
