Until ne day, smene frm the Health Department came t tell us that ur avcad tree was t large and needed trimming. In New Yrk, yu get in truble if yu dn’t clear the snw ff yur sidewalk. Here, it’s when yur trees are t high. S alng came the trimmer, leaving just the trunk and a few branches. I was sad. The kids were all sad. Sme friends wh knew it wuld say, “It’s ging t grw back. Yur next avcads will be crazy!” Yeah, whatever. The tree is gne, s stp ding that. It just didn’t wrk.
But a few days later, I nticed sme unusual butterflies flying arund the yard. And then, the sun came in the kitchen, creating this pleasant warmth nce blcked by the huge tree. After abut a mnth, I started t ntice sme tiny green shts cming ut f the cut branches, which eventually turned int full-n bright green leaves.
I started t feel like all was ging t be fine, kind f like life. Little d we knw what seems really difficult is actually life’s way f making us strnger.
